General. Maastricht Aachen Airport has a unique position. Please read this document before flying in or out of EHBK.
Runway use. Runway 21 is always to be used with winds up to 6 knots. If the wind is over 6 knots runway 03 can be used if the wind is optimal for 03.
Transponder. When departing, keep transponder on standby until you have been cleared for line up on the runway. When arriving switch the transponder to standby after vacating the runway.
Common errors. The following errors have been recognized as common errors made by pilots on Maastricht Aachen Airport:
Aircraft with a wingspan over 36 meters are prohibited to taxi over taxiways W3 and W4. Instead they should vacated at W1.
Runway 21 departures initiating the turn too late.
Hotspots. There are two hotspots at Maastricht Aachen Airport. They are listed below as one, as they have the same caution.
Do not cross the holding position without ATC clearance.
