quick question regarding PosCon, Since vatsim tends to make aircraft float or sink into the ground when flying in Xplane or P3D, will this issue be corrected at some point with PosCon once it is released and ready to be used the public?

Matt actually has a video on his twitch that demonstrates the tick rate being phenomenal. You see a 747 land and the wheels touching perfectly. This is also early phases of development, can you imagine how much better it is going to get for us?

Here is the link for your pleasure.

Oh yey ahah, well I'll wait around, do you know anything i can do in the meantime (controller wise)

IVAO is probably your best best short term wise to get a hang of it. VATSIM has better training then IVAO but it takes alot of time. If you want to learn a little I'd recommend IVAO and once POSCON is up and running I'm sure they'll have training to get you going.

  3. I love this idea. My two cents would be to create a status board similar to what you see in airports for everyone to see that way you can pre-plan your flights and reserve your slot(obviously have time constraints and consequences for no shows). Other pilots can see that so they can plan accordingly and also so they can see what type of traffic they would be dealing with whether it be GA or Commercial. ATC can see this as well so they can plan to be on if the traffic is beneficial. Subsequently create a ATC status board with their planned online times so pilots can see as well.

    Great idea people!!

  4. Yeah I'd have to agree with Andrew on this one. As with the scenery and plane add-ons they try to balance marketing and developing and all that causes is inpatient flight simmers. This community has a hard time being positive and waiting. Developers don't like putting deadlines as if they break it then everyone gets upset. Best thing right now is to just develop, there isn't any sense in pushing a campaign when the beta isn't ready. When the time comes and the product is ready to be marketed, then more forces can be moved that way. You have to remember how this community acts and giving them a working product goes much further then marketing an unfinished product.

In the case of X-Plane it's not very much effort to do that even with XSB; just need a small lua script (or it could be included to the plane, as in the case of a few) to define the required datarefs. No clue about P3D though

I tried looking for lua scripts for it, but no one has one out there and I have no idea what i'm doing lol. I really dont know how this question hasnt been brought up before.

  6. I was fiddling around with my PMDG 747 today and got to thinking. With vPilot audio is run strictly to and from it, it only receives the inputted freq from the aircraft. Now I don't know if this is a PMDG task or possibly the client that POSCON uses, but would it be possible to use the speaker function within the aircraft? I have attached a photo of what I am talking about for those of you who don't get at what I am saying.

I feel this can be beneficial for a few reasons.

    1. Pilots that fly for a few hours don't want their headset on the entire time. While this can be fixed by just going into the settings of the client and selecting a different audio source, I think it will add to the realism and be one of those "cool features"

    2. For pilots of step away for a few minutes to grab a drink, it can be a quick selector to switch from headset to speaker

    3. REALISM, lol everyone wants that right?

Just some thoughts, like I said I don't know if that is something that would go into PMDG coding or something that would be working with the pilot client.speaker.thumb.PNG.0fad29f123e4a0af703d861ff8720524.PNG

I wonder if we'll have to contend with drones on the approach path to the airports, like some fields contend with regularlly

Wouldn't that add to the realism and excitement?
