Hello I am a newbie pilot and I have have two questions.

1. I HATE flying modern aircraft but have a soft spot for old airliners  like the 727 and I do a great deal of flying in them and no it isnot  RNAV capable but It does have an INS (Inertial Navigation System) would it still be legal to fly with this aircraft on the network VOR to VOR?

2. Why can't I fly as a military aircraft if I follow the proper procedures form atc?
