Eric Hobbs
Why does POSCON need all of these permissions from my Discord acccount? This seems excessive.
Network Directors Andrew Heath Posted July 10, 2020 Network Directors Share Posted July 10, 2020 1. "Access your username and avatar" - We need username and avatar because the "userId" for Discord is received from that authorization. We store the Discord userId for linking your POSCON account. 2. "Know what servers you're in" - We need to know what servers you are in because we do a check on our side to see if you have joined the Public POSCON Discord server. If not, we tell the user to join that first. We don't need or care to store any information about the other Discord servers you are in. 3. "Join servers for you" - In future, once we have operational ATC/Pilot Divisions, we need to be able to manage your access to those POSCON Discord servers. We have an extensive Privacy Policy that covers data protection. Feel free to glance through that and learn how we manage and protect your data. If you are still not satisfied, you obviously have the option to not authorize POSCON to connect with your Discord account as well.
