  1. How are you going to handle sim crashes? i.e VAS overloads (I don't mean aircraft crashing into the ground just to be clear). Are you just going to let pilots reconnect where they are or will they have to finish the flight offline if the airspace is busy?
  2. We know that most aircraft have some form of random failures. Is it not possible to get the client to give data to you as to whether there is a failure within the sim as opposed to a made up pilot error?
  3. Maybe you should be rewarded for being patient in the hold and diverting? After all, this network isn't meant for the light-hearted.
  4. Hi. Has there been any discussion on the way emergencies/non-normal situations are going to be handled? What I mean more specifically is, in XPlane, there is a feature to induce random failures. Will pilots and controllers be rewarded for dealing with these or will it be encouraged as long as it doesn't get in the way of anyone and will the automated traffic services have functions built in to deal with emergencies? Will 121.5 be used as an open frequency? Any replies are greatly appreciated as always. Jay
  5. Relatively new member here. Looking forward to the upcoming years and success of POSCON! Anyone else?

  6. Maybe Andrew can add a music player in the forum so we can have some rave music? That would liven it up. I'm sat here listening though.
  7. Hey hey hey where's the UK in all of this?
  8. What about the problem of not having radar but only radio? Is that a function of the relevant software or would sector files just not get made/imported?
  9. Hahah. It's interesting you say that as I think it would make for one hell of an event. IRL, North Weald is so chaotic especially because we have the air ambulance there barging its way through and not to mention, the pattern altitude is just 800ft agl because we have the Stansted TMZ at 1500ft agl so sat in a Cessna or Helicopter at 80kts calling out a 737 500ft above is good excitement. But in short I was thinking more about events like a war bird cross country or something along those lines departing from airports with air-ground.
  10. Hi all. I was wondering if the POSCON devs were/are considering the idea of having air/ground radio at certain (mainly GA) aerodromes. For example, EGSX - North Weald has an Air Ground radio setup where, for those that don't know, pilots tell the radio controller their intentions and the radio controller advises the pilot on any conflicting traffic as well as giving pilots information on active runway and wind etc. Obviously, in reality it's slightly more complicated than that but it should give you a good idea. These radio controllers are put in place so that there is some form of order and situational awareness for traffic and accurate weather information while not having to pay for a fully licensed radar service. As always, any answer is greatly appreciated. Jay
  11. Will PRM and SOIA approaches be simulated in POSCON? (Or at least are they planned)? Just curious because it would be a lot of fun.
