April 17, 20196 yr Hello if a Flight sim network gonna simulate real life, there is no doubt it needs real-life weather so last months I've been working on a weather engine for ( cus I couldn't afford a paid one ? ) and it works great, in fact, I'm using it right now while I'm writing so if you want a weather engine to integrate into your ACARS or tracker, I can help you with it ? the engine works with ( FSX / P3D v3 and v4 ) and ofc the ATC programme if you want to. to check my updated post on the development click here. hope that helps Have a nice day ?
April 23, 20196 yr Network Directors @Redouane Red Thanks for the offer, but we are actually not planning on injecting any sort of weather into the simulator.
June 13, 20196 yr I have flown on networks that inject weather and those that don't. However, in either case those networks worked from real time METAR data so controllers managed the airspace based on actual weather in near real time, delayed only by METAR update intervals. Is that the intent for POSCON?
June 13, 20196 yr Network Directors @Tom G. Yes, ATC will always defer to the real world METAR/TAF report to choose runway/airspace configurations - but the pilots don't necessarily have to be using that weather.
July 8, 20196 yr There are many great weather engines that simulate the real world such as Active Sky.
