  1. The flip side of having 100+ aircraft on 123.45 untill switching to tower is the limitted amount of transmitting that can be done. Because you don't want to step on others it would be one at a time position reports. When the planes would be divided over multiple frequencies (different fields) there would be way much more communications going on simultaneously and thus putting more stress on the servers. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to fly the KOSH FISK-Arrival, but I'm not sure if this will suit the needs of the stress test. Maybe the DEV team can be more specific on what they want to test. Connection load? Multiple simultaneously ATIS connections? Multiple simultaneously transmissions? Etc.
  2. Over 100 flights at one single field might be a bit difficult to achieve. People would need to be patiently waiting for their turn. We might also pick an area with a couple of fields in the vicinity and do ordinary traffic patterns. Publish an Excel sheet and have people sign up for a field to divide them a bit. This way you'd probably be having more air to air communications simultaneously on the servers.
  3. Disregard. Found the answer in a different post. => More info on https://www.euroscope.hu/wp/
  4. I'm sorry for asking these noob questions. I'm sure files of other networks aren't allowed to be shared, so I guess they need to be build from scratch. Is there any documentation available on these sector file formats? Are there any specific tools available to build these files? Any tips?
  5. Ah great, thanks Andrew! I understand from these pictures that the stand numbers aren't that import as they don't show up on the map at all. The main focus seems to be the taxiways. Do correct me if I'm wrong though.
  6. There's quite some discrepancy between the various OSM airports in the way that parking positions and taxilanes (no official OSM feature) are implemented (lines -vs- points). It would be nice to be able to see how the OSM changes influence the POSCON map. When will this POSCON map be accessible so we can cross check our work?

  8. Hey guys, My name is Erwin and EHLE is my home airport. Old-school simming since the early days when buildings were nothing more than wireframe constructions and instruments were hardly readable, all being supported by some static noise pretending to be engine sound..... and I loved it! In those days I was dreaming of building my own home cockpit, which I'm realising now. The Baron 58 is my aircraft and all I'm flying. Usually I'll be stick-and-rudder flying, X-Plane, low-and-slow, VFR, transiting various airspace on the way while in contact with the various controllers for 'flight following'. Online flying is great for realism. So far I've tried IVAO, VATSIM and PE. The immersion just dies quickly when you need to open pop-up windows in your outside view, grab a keyboard and start typing position calls... Also the unpredictability of when controllers are online doesn't really add up to the experience, so... PE is the only way to go for me now. I've joined here to see how this network will develop and how it will handle the disappointments of other networks. The advertising on the website sounds promising and I hope the founders will succeed in this huge challenge! I hope to fly with you in the virtual skies soon!
