  1. Not encouraged verse not allowed. I’m all for not encouraged but if it happens then we will deal with it. Just like in real life emergencies are not encouraged but sometimes they do happen so not allowed definitely takes away from the realism and immersion.
  2. I disagree, I think there should be some way of letting controllers know that the aircraft you are flying may have a failure. A lot of 3rd party developers are simulating wear and tear and failures. Doesn’t mean you will have a failure, just a heads up to the controller that it is a possibility verse say flying a carenado plane where failures won’t happen. I also agree the controller should have the final say if the failure or emergency will be entertained. If they are swamped with traffic I get it, no time for emergencies. Basically you can’t aim for a realistic environment if you start limiting real life scenarios.
  3. My point is that if I fly the Airbus a319 professional there will not be any unexpected emergencies along the route such as engine fires or failures because the plane does not have them modeled. It’s simple flown as filed. If I’m flying an A2A c182 there is a chance that the engine catches fire or if I’m flying the Connie a passenger gets sick and needs to divert. I’m not looking to cause problems with controllers but if I have an emergency while flying I’m going to deal with it. If it means diverting or making an emergency landing somewhere then so be it. I like as real as possible and I tend to fly my sim that way.
  4. A virtual airline should be multi platform.
  5. How will weather work? If ATIS is running it must be getting the info from somewhere? How will that effect those using active sky or rex sky force or no weather at all? with weather be injected into poscon like the old Bva multiplayer server?
  6. Here are my two cents...... I fly mostly A2A aircraft which if you are not familiar with A2A, their planes feature full wear and tear and damage. I can be flying along one minute and the next I could have an engine fire (not often but it happens). Here is my suggestion since 3rd party developers are starting to implement damage and failures and that’s what most people are flying. I don’t think anyone really flies default aircraft online, maybe a few people. proposal: Emergencies are permitted if a flight plan is filed and in the flight plan it states the aircraft you are flying is capable of failures. This doesn’t mean you will have a failure just let’s ATC know that it is a possibility. I believe PMDG has failures modeled and so does the just flight GA line, plus all A2A planes. By filing a flight plan it will cut most of the trolling. Those that call emergency without a flight plan are subject to getting kicked or whatever. Emergencies occur in the real world all the time allowing the possibility of them in the sim makes it the most realistic experience. If anything, try it for a bit and if it becomes troll city you can always change it.
  7. Wow. Now here’s the million dollar question will the Unicom channel reception be location based? Like in the real world two airports across the country may share the same freq but only nearby aircraft can hear them.
  8. Multiplayer is great but the one major immersion killer is incorrect model matches. I hope they can figure out a way to correct this. It would be great if the payware companies would license out models of their aircraft for multiplayer representation only. For example, I don’t own the PMDG 737 ngx but it would be great if while flying online with someone who is flying the PMDG 737ngx it shows up on my computer as the PMDG 737 in all its glory instead of a crappy 737 or a crj 700.
  9. My one gripe with vatsim is non voice Unicom. Will poscon have the ability for voice channel unicoms for uncontrolled fields? I hope so.
