  1. Hello and welcome to everyone interested in the Estonia Division of POSCON! I have created this forum to explore the possibility of releasing a division for Estonia during beta testing. The only way we will release with this division is if enough people show interest, so get all your friends to join this club and make sure that they stay active! If there is enough interest and discussion, we will devote our resources to creating the necessary infrastructure. We are going to need your help though with sector file construction and writing procedures! If you have any interest in helping us write this material, please email [email protected] Tere ja teretulnud kõigile, kes on huvitatud POSCONI Eesti osakonnast! Me vajame teie abi koos sektorifailide ehitamise ja kirjutamise protseduuridega! Kui teil on huvi aidata meil seda materjali kirjutada, saatke palun email [email protected]
  2. While I understand your point, we actually disagree. We are going to attempt an automatic PDC client. What will be necessary is for local Facility Engineers to put if/than statements into the client/server that will take into account all those local variables you mentioned. So to answer your question @James Yuen, we are going to attempt an automatic PDC client and we are also going to attempt to make it available 24/7 regardless of whether ATC is online or not.
  3. Yes. We have (or are) building a mechanism that essentially locks AI traffic to the elevation in your sim.
  4. Are your airspace diagrams in EuroScope (.SCT2) format? We will need airport briefing guides. SOPs for ATC. All else looks great! Good work!
  5. Hi, we have most of the pilot client work completed. There are two versions: one for Xplane and one for P3D/FSX. They are modules and the UI is the same for both - accessible via a website. There is not a public version yet, but we will have something to show in June of 2018 at FSExpo where we will be launching our public beta.
  6. Or how about the tail strike on landing!?! To his credit, it looks like that Airbus was aft CG loaded. Stay tuned, in the next few days we are gonna have a special demo for those military folks out there... hint hint
  7. Here is a quick update on how our server update rate affects various aspects of the network... in this case multiplayer traffic. When we started this project, our goal was to develop a server protocol that allowed for formation flying... we are getting really close to meeting that goal! See for yourself. In demo #1, we were running the server on the same machine as the flight simulator, so it was a tad jittery. In demo #2, we are showing how a multiplayer will look on landing.
  8. No, it is not fair to expect that one controller would need a more complete readback than the other. Let THEM tell you whether they want a shortened readback. It's not really for the pilot to decide. PDC should be used where it is available in the real world; however, on network's such as VATSIM, there is not clear standardized model or automated process for it. We will be solving this issue on POSCON.
  9. Full readbacks are always expected unless ATC advises otherwise. If you want to shorten your readback, at the very least give us your destination, departure procedure, initial altitude, and squawk code. Altitude being the MOST important of all. Example: "Cleared to La Guardia, Philadelphia Two departure, maintain 5000, squawk 3301." The controller often times has no clue whether you are familiar with the route or not, and frankly it doesn't really matter. In the airline world we act as though it is our first time flying a route every time, regardless of the fact it may be our 1000th time. This is to prevent a hazard called "expectation bias" which could trap you if something changes from what you expect on the 1001th time you fly that route.
  10. We are interested in gathering some data about the people using this forum. Help us by answering the above questions!

FIRST ANNUAL FlightSimExpo ANNOUNCES JUNE 2018 ARRIVAL IN LAS VEGAS Interest in the first annual FlightSimExpo has taken off – with more than 25 organizations expressing initial commitment to making the new event in Las Vegas a huge success. Interested attendees are encouraged to follow the conference on Twitter (@FlightSimExpo) and ‘like’ the conference on Facebook (facebook.com/FlightSimExpo) to stay up to date. LAS VEGAS – December 8 – FlightSimExpo 2018, a new, community-driven flight simulation conference, will be held the weekend of June 9-10, 2018 at Flamingo Las Vegas Resort. Located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip and minutes from the airport, Flamingo Las Vegas Resort has newly-renovated rooms, modern meeting space, a great rewards program, and features a Caribbean-style water park and tropical wildlife habitat. FlightSimExpo 2018 will feature a variety of interactive exhibits, and a host of educational and informative seminars from professionals across the aviation and flight simulation industries. In addition, there will be social events after conference hours for networking and connecting with other simulation enthusiasts, aviation professionals, and developers from across the simulation industry. The conference was formed by a group of community organizers from Boston Virtual ARTCC who have years of experience in flight simulation, aviation, and event planning. FSExpo plans to bring simulation enthusiasts, current and former aviation professionals, and anyone else who has an interest in flight simulation or aviation together to witness the advances and developments within the industry. This conference is truly community-driven: the venue, host city, and activities have all been determined by feedback from the community and developers. Early support from Orbx, X-Plane, and the new AidDailyX team helped make this event into a reality. At AirDailyX, we are proud to announce that as official sponsors of this event, we will stream live from several locations across the event and allow our viewers across the world to not only watch live but also participate in the different conferences and Q&A sessions. This event is going to be very special as we will host the Positive Control team to reveal ground-breaking developments and achievements to enhance the flight simulation industry. We encourage everyone to participate in the planning of the conference by joining in discussions that will take place in a FlightSimExpo forum to be hosted on the new AirDailyX forum. That will be released along with our brand new web site in the upcoming days. Stay tuned for more information on these exciting developments! Early bird registration will start at just $50 for the weekend, and a 3-night stay at the FlightSimExpo special event rate will be approximately $135/night, including all taxes and fees. Visit www.flightsimexpo.com for more information about the event and venue. Interested attendees are also encouraged to follow FSExpo on Twitter (@FlightSimExpo) and like the conference on Facebook (facebook.com/FlightSimExpo) for updates.
  12. Miami ARTCC is covered by the USA Division and that also includes Miami Oceanic FIR. San Juan FIR is also covered by the USA Division. That leaves Piarco, Curacao, Santo Domingo, Port AU Prince, Havana, Kingston, and Nassau. I am not sure if we want to put all those under one division or separate. We are open to discuss advantages both ways.
  13. Yes, CPDLC is definitely being integrated. However, I think some people may be using the terms "CPDLC" and "ACARS" datalink interchangeably, and they really shouldn't be. CPDLC is a service of an aircraft's datalink. ACARS datalink is the most important integration because it allows users to access a wealth of data services including: D-ATIS, METARs, TAFs, NOTAMs, etc. all in printable text format Flight plan and performance data from dispatch. Basically you can uplink your flight plan and performance data from your dispatch release. Free form text messages to dispatch. Position reporting to dispatch. PDC, which is NOT a direct link to ATC unless it is run through the CPDLC service. CPDLC, which IS a direct link to ATC, but not all airplanes or airlines are equipped with it. Anyway, bottom line... we plan on developing ACARS datalink and all relevant data services.

  15. Hello and welcome to everyone interested in the Sweden Division of POSCON! I have created this forum to explore the possibility of releasing a division for Sweden during beta testing. The only way we will release with this division is if enough people show interest, so get all your friends to join this club and make sure that they stay active! If there is enough interest and discussion, we will devote our resources to creating the necessary infrastructure. We are going to need your help though with sector file construction and writing procedures! If you have any interest in helping us write this material, please email [email protected] Hej och välkommen till alla som är intresserade av Sveriges division av POSCON!
  16. No, I don't believe there is a requirement that the browser needs to remain open while you are connected, but again the UI is not fully developed yet. This does raise a lot of questions about how one would receive notifications if the browser is not open, but I believe we have a solution for that as well. I will post more detail when we are a little further along.
  17. P3D, FSX, and X-Plane Not sure I understand the VR question, what exactly are you asking? Our pilot client user interface will be web-based, so in theory if your add-on has an iPad in the cockpit and that add-on has a web browser built-in (e.g. Flight Factor A320), you could access the pilot client directly from the sim! This would allow you to remain completely immersed in the sim. I am not going to GUARANTEE that this is going to work, but we are attempting to develop it with this capability.
