@Pavlin 1022770If you are flying a NAT, you just say: 'requesting clearence to Kennedy via track A', if you are flying ramdom routing you'll say: '  requesting clearence to Kennedy via DOGAL, 55 North 020 West, 56 North 030 West,' and so on. This is just a part of the clearence request.

And how he can understand in which direction you are going if there is two tracks with the same letter? I mean eastbound and westbound one????

From what I understood, the NAT tracks names are not duplicated. They have unique letter identifiers. There won't be 2 tracks with name A at any point.

  2. It is early to judge this behaviour as "attitude" towards ATC presence. I think it's just a temporary phase while the network is still under development.

As for "forcing" pilots to contact you, if someone does not want to contact you they will simply ghost or disconnect. But there are ways to let pilots know that you want to contact them. ATC have a CPDLC functionality to send a message to any aircraft to contact them (provided that the aircraft is already connected via CPDLC). There is also Guard frequency (121.500) which pilots should be monitoring according to POSCON policies. And finally, there's another moderation tool that allows ATC to contact pilots on any frequency they're tuned to. Other than that, you cannot force change the frequency. The feedback system is used as a last resort to indicate that a pilot was unresponsive to any of the previously mentioned methods.

  3. If a flight on the map does not have a departure or arrival, it is likely that the pilot did not activate his flight plan, or as you mentioned, it could be because the pilot did not file a flight plan. For IFR flights, a flight plan is required on POSCON. But due to low possibility of ATC being online, some members choose to skip this step.

  4. Hello David,

Your question could be interpreted in a couple ways.
Do you want to activate your frequency to control or do you want to add/edit frequencies in general?

In any way, please read the document prepared by AJ for the Radar Client. It has been made specifically to answer such questions.

  5. Hey Tommaso,

This is probably a known issue for the developers, but I'm not sure. But just in case, I would suggest sending it as a bug report via a support ticket. That way you could ensure it reaches the support team who will delegate it to the devs.

  6. Hello Nick,

This is a common problem that happens with pilots who do not activate their flight plans properly.
Did you get a squawk code from the Web UI?

To access the replay, you would have to go to your flight plan briefing page. When it is correlated properly, you will see the replay button on the top right corner. But if it wasn't correlated (i.e. you got a squawk code and departed within the 2-hour window) you will not see that button.

In addition to that, your recent flights show the "connections" and not the flight plans. So if you got disconnected, it might show a separate "connection" that starts from mid-air onward, hence the "ZZZZ" you see in your origin.

    Hi Maher Abaza,

Thanks for your answer. I should have explained myself better. Yes, there is an import FPL function. But when I import an FPL file & try to submit it, the system complains that something is wrong with PBN in the Other section. But there is nothing wrong.

The same flight plan when prefiled directly from Simbrief goes through without any problems. So something is wrong. But I don't know what. Hence my question about importing another format. Obviously, I don't want to fill everything section in manually.

Discord is not for me just like FB is not for me. I don't have any urgency on this. If POSCON doesn't work, I'll just leave it out.

    Hello again,

Discord is not a must, and we respect your wish. It is just a faster way to reach a large amount of members.

For the flight plan that you tried to import, do you still have the file? I can take a look and reach the developer for further debugging.
Sometimes the error code that you receive can describe what is missing/wrong, so if you remember what it says please let me know!

And please remember this is still a beta program. We are trying to break things as much as we can so we could cover all the errors before the big launch!

  8. Hello KSI,

As for your forth question, yes there is an import button that takes `.fpl` files in the Flight Plan Creation page, as shown here:1.png.04dca97bcd78269a6f88575b9b602a35.png

Not related, but you might also want to link your Discord account, if you have one. The public POSCON Discord is an easy and quick way to get support in the appropriate channels. The administrators and moderators always keep an eye there. Not that they don't do here, but thought I'd let you know!

This forum post is dedicated to announcing pre-organised group flights in Jordanian airspace.

Suggested rules to keep the discussion organised:

    1. Mention the date and planned time of departure, in addition with the aircraft type or category preferred for this flight.
    2. Please try to limit the posts to announcement rather than comments and questions, just to enable people to subscribe and receive notifications whenever there's a group flight.
    3. Members can add reactions to comments indicating their will to join the group flight.

Thank you for your cooperation. Enjoy your flights!

  10. Hello Alexander,

As far as I'm aware, the ATIS functionality isn't completely available at this time, but the developers are working slowly to get it up and running.
You may however request a METAR from WEB UI under Company > WX Request.

This week we are going to the United Arab Emirates, and we will conduct our VFR session at Dubai Intl. [OMDB].

    Overview

Dubai International Airport [OMDB] is the primary international airport serving Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is the world's busiest airport by international passenger traffic. It is also the fifth-busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic, the sixth-busiest cargo airport in the world, the busiest airport for Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 movements, and the airport with the highest average number of passengers per flight.

    Emphasis Items

Due to the nature of the airspace surrounding the airport, being situated next to 3 other airports (Sharjah Intl, Al-Maktoum Intl, and Al-Minhad AB), the VFR standard operating procedures are very specific and strict. It is mandatory to operate within the declared VFR Routes in the U.A.E AIP.

    image.png.98e3e13cca7ecd59c4be1de6eb3925aa.png

Tower is equipped with a radar, and most likely is going to issue a unique transponder code to all VFR and IFR flights.

Traffic aiming to conduct VFR circuits will be given taxi to the southern runway (12R/30L) and will remain south of the airfield at all times, maintaining 1,000 ft. AMSL.
VFR traffic leaving the Dubai Control Zone will need a clearance via a VR (VFR Route). Refer to the UAE AIP Chart to familiarize yourself with the VFR Routes and Visual Reporting Points.
    Extra:

    1. Dubai CTA VFR Routes
    2. Dubai CTA Visual Reporting Points

Although this group flight is for VFR operations, IFR departures will be controlled and will need to comply with published SIDs.

    Communication

    ATIS: 131.700
    Dubai Tower: 118.750
    Emergency (Guard): 121.500

  12. I don't think many would mind what region the flights are focused at, what 's important is to try and figure out what time could suit US-based and European-based users the most. For that, I know most EU-based people will be active between 1200z and 2300z tops. If US-based members can make a compromise, we can target a Saturday or a Sunday when most people are home without obligations and can fly.

I'll bite. This is a big question honestly lol.

Since you are non-radar, the relay folks need to transmit you data and plot it. I'm keeping this on a basic level. Yes, Most mainstream airlines/modern planes use ADS-C, CPDLC, and are FANS-A1. Using HF and Satellite comms to communicate position across water. I'm not really up to speed on real world NAT Track stuff sorry, but the rest of the World hasn't really changed. Different parts of the world do reports and coms different as far as lingo.

Blast off, make a coast out fix at altitude. The controllers are going to want to know Flight Level and Speed in Mach. Be at that fix at ALT and SPD. You need a frequency. FSX/P3D can't do HF, so it'll be one frequency. (Otherwise you'll get a Primary and Secondary HF freq IRL.) The Initial call is important bc it has the most stuff. You'll get a hand off sometime before the fix. If you didn't get a freq, ask before you go.

Make Initial Contact. "Gander Radio, Gander Radio, XXXXX, On XXXX (Freq), Position."            Add "SELCAL XX-XX, CPDLC" if you want.

They will come back asking for an Estimate for initial fix, FL, and Mach typically. Easy!!!

So as you cross that initial fix...below follows.

The you need to remember this. PTAPTP!!!. Position Time Altitude, Position Time, Position. "Delta 55 Crossed XXXXX at 1255Z FL, estimating XXXXX, XXXXX next." Atlantic adds the Mach after the FL, but they should know the Mach already since you requested it. EVERY FIX YOU CROSS REPORT! Make yourself a form and just right the info down. In some agreements with controlling agencies if your FMC time to a fix is great that 2 or 3 mins (pending where), call the controller and adjust it. Just do it.

This is sometimes a learn as you go thing. Important to know though...know where you are, report where you are, stay on course/on time. This is the basic stuff. Don't adjust ALT either unless requested.

You've pretty much covered it all, that's great! Thanks a lot man!

  14. I've had this curious matter of Oceanic flights in my head for a long time. I have not flown any trans-Atlantic flights in any flight simulator because I have no idea what to expect. I have watched some videos in the past, but I still don't get the way it works.

How does it look from pilots' perspective? What do they need to learn more than regular pilots who don't fly Oceanic?

For ATC, what are the procedures like and what makes Oceanic ATC different?
