  1. Hi, Yes, our ATC training will be similar to VATSIM, except more standardization across the board. We are aiming for a June 2018 beta. If you are registered member of this site, you will be offered to become a beta tester. Make sure to share with your friends so they don't miss out!
  2. Thanks for your interest in the Positive Control Network! While we have been rather quiet on social media lately, we want to assure you that the last few months have been very productive! The POSCON team has been diligently working to develop the next generation flight simulation network.... all while keeping it 100% FREE for our users. FEATURE UPDATES Alright, now lets get to the good stuff! Unlike similar network projects that boast concept renderings of features to attract interest, we are only going to list the amazing features that we have either completed or are well into the development phase on: A server update rate that will allow for formation flying. This has always been a benchmark for our development team and by using modern server development techniques, such as those in online action games, this will be a reality. Web-based pilot client. This may sound weird, but it is going to be absolutely amazing! Imagine being able to leave your computer to run an errand, make dinner, or even watch the football game! This is totally possible with a web-based pilot client. You will be able to answer messages, connect or disconnect, and access a whole host of features from your tablet or mobile device. Air traffic controllers, how about putting your printers to good use? Flight strips will be both electronic and printable. In all cases, flight strips will remain in the FDIO (Flight Data Input/Output) system after a user logs off, so the sequence at a tower will not be lost. Real world D-ATIS (Digital Automated Terminal Information Service) broadcasts will be available 100% of the time even at unstaffed airports that support D-ATIS. POSCON recently became an official provider of digital services from the FAA, and D-ATIS is just one of the many services we will be integrating into POSCON. Voice communication will mirror the real world precisely. We can guarantee, with confidence, that our voice protocol will meet or exceed your expectations. How can we guarantee this? Because real world airline pilots and controllers are on our team and testing every aspect of our network to ensure high fidelity! UPDATE ON DONATIONS A few months ago we stopped accepting donations from the community. This decision was made because POSCON found an angel investor to fund the entire project for years to come. This was a huge step that really turned this project from a dream into a reality. For those of you that generously contributed money early on, you will get everything that you were promised and more. We will not forget your generosity and will be reaching out to each contributor personally in the coming months to advise you of the benefits you will receive at launch. For everyone else, please SAVE YOUR MONEY. We are aware that there are other network projects currently soliciting donations from you, but why waste your hard earned money? Why donate to a network that will just turn around and charge monthly subscription fees after launch? POSCON wants to assure everyone that our network release is forthcoming and, when it is released, it will be completely FREE!! We will not be charging user fees or subscriptions. UPDATE ON RELEASE We're excited to share that we now have a target date for beta of June 2018. The POSCON team is working extremely hard to have a beta ready to showcase during FSExpo 2018 in Las Vegas, NV. For more information on FSExpo, visit their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FlightSimExpo/ NEXT STEPS So what now? The best way you can help POSCON is to join the conversation on social media. Like and follow our pages, and SHARE the project with your friends. This will allow us to attract the attention this project deserves! In the coming weeks we will post additional feature updates to social media only, so don't miss out on the news: LIKE our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/PosConNetwork/ FOLLOW us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/posconnetwork FOLLOW us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/posconnetwork/ Sincerely, The POSCON Team
  3. Our ATC client developer is responsible for the EuroScope client on VATSIM, which means the European user interface is essentially already completed. Just take a look at the images by clicking here and you will get an idea of the power of this radar client. Our main focus now is to ensure a US-based client is properly simulated as well.
  4. There will an assortment of tools for ATC that are web-based, but the ATC client itself will be a desktop application for Mac and Windows.
  5. Hi, I think you may be referring to a different Gergely? DLMN was created by Gergely Kosa, correct?
  6. We have a need for an experienced C++ programmer to help with the development of some of our network services. It will be a paid gig and we prefer experience from within the community. If you know anyone who might be interested, please PM me! Thanks!
  7. It will be a multi-purpose client. Similar to Ross Carlson's VRC, but with the complexity of vERAM and vSTARS. In other words, you will be able to work top-down efficiently while also retaining many of the realism features of the other clients.
  8. Here are just a few screen shots of Gergely's new ATC client. Font is not updated, but you can see the beginnings of ERAM being developed!
