7.2.1 - President

Overview

  • Volunteer position with the opportunity of a salary with sufficient revenue generation
  • Appointed by the Managing Members of Positive Control LLC

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Managing Members of Positive Control LLC
  • Appoints the Managing Director
  • Appoints Network Directors based on recommendations from the Managing Director
  • Oversees the development and growth of the non-profit organization
  • Makes decisions in consideration of the Network's best interests and core objectives
  • Approves Network and Legal policy changes

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a four year collegiate degree
  • Must have at least 10 years experience as a manager of flight simulation communities
  • Must have a demonstrated record of being a strong leader
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must sign a Volunteer Agreement or other contractual obligation at the discretion of the Managing Members of Positive Control LLC
  • Must have sufficient time to dedicate to the position

7.2.2 - Managing Director

  • Appointed by the President

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the President
  • Appoints Network Managers based on Network Director recommendations
  • Oversees the Network Directors
  • Recommends Network Director candidates to the President for appointment
  • Conducts monthly Director meetings and is responsible for maintaining meeting minutes
  • Consults with the Board of Network Technology & Development and Board of Network Quality & Standards
  • Makes weekly progress reports to the President

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a four year collegiate degree
  • Must have at least 10 years experience as a manager of flight simulation communities
  • Must have a demonstrated record of being a strong leader
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

7.2.3 - Director of Operations

  • Recommended by the Managing Director and appointed by the President

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Managing Director
  • Appoints Division Managers
  • Oversees the Manager of Facility Development, Air Operations Manager(s), Manager of Air Operating Certificates, and Division Managers
  • Recommends the Manager of Facility Development, Air Operations Manager(s), Manager of Air Operating Certifications to the Managing Director for appointment
  • Responsible for day to day operations of the Network
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of Network projects, feedback reports, and support tickets
  • Has final authority on Division operations
  • Maintains Division Policies, Pilot Policies, and ATC Policies
  • Makes weekly progress reports to the Managing Director

7.2.4 - Director of Training

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Managing Director
  • Oversees the Manager(s) of Pilot Training and Manager(s) of ATC Training
  • Recommends the Manager(s) of Pilot Training and Manager(s) of ATC Training to the Managing Director for appointment
  • Ensures quality control of pilots and controllers on the Network
  • Ability to change and adapt training to a changing network environment
  • Maintains the following policies: Academy Training Policy
  • Makes weekly progress reports to the Managing Director

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a four year collegiate degree
  • Must have a demonstrated record of being a strong leader
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have real-world instructor/evaluator experience
  • Must demonstrate independent initiative to work on departmental projects
  • Must sign a Volunteer Agreement or other contractual obligation at the discretion of the President

7.2.5 - Director of Technology

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Managing Director
  • Oversees the Manager of Quality Assurance and the Network development team
  • Recommends the Manager of Software Quality Assurance and volunteer developers to the Managing Director for appointment
  • Consults with the President before issuing any permissions that would grant developers access to the intellectual property of the Network
  • Coordinates with the President to create the long-term priorities for network development
  • Coordinates with Directors to develop and execute all software release strategies
  • Makes weekly progress reports to the Managing Director and President

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have experience with cloud platforms
  • Must have strong project management skills
  • Must have a demonstrated record of being a strong leader
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate independent initiative to work on departmental projects
  • Must sign a Volunteer Agreement or other contractual agreement at the discretion of the President
  • Must have sufficient time to dedicate to the position
  • Should have a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Should have at least 5 years of flight simulation experience

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Managing Director
  • Appoints Support Specialists and Moderators
  • Oversees the Manager of Membership and Manager of Moderators
  • Recommends the Manager of Membership and Manager of Moderators to the Managing Director for appointment
  • Maintains the network support system, policies, and procedures
  • Ensures timely and accurate responses to support tickets
  • Assists in managing personnel for Membership Support and Moderator Team
  • Works closely with other Directors as support issues often affect multiple departments
  • Makes weekly progress reports to the Managing Director

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a four year collegiate degree
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in direct interaction customer support/service
  • Must have a demonstrated record of being a strong leader
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Develop short and long term marketing goals
  • Maintain knowledge of industry marketing tools and applications
  • Makes weekly progress reports to the Managing Director

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a degree in marketing or related field
  • Must have experience in creating marketing content such as videos, audio, web, etc.
  • Must possess expert knowledge of social media platforms
  • Must possess expert knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics
  • Must have a demonstrated record of being a strong leader
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate independent initiative to work on departmental projects
  • Must sign a Volunteer Agreement or other contractual agreement at the discretion of the President
  • Must have sufficient time to dedicate to the position
  • Should have at least 5 years of flight simulation experience

  • Makes progress reports to the Managing Director and President when requested

  • Must have at least 5 years of corporate law experience

7.2.9 - Manager of Software Quality Assurance

  • Responsible for executing short-term product development goals and timelines

  • Develops and executes the testing strategy
  • Coordinates with Support Specialists to disseminate information about technical support related issues
  • Makes weekly progress reports to the Director of Technology

  • Must have excellent technical project management skills

  • Creates and maintains computer-based training modules and other materials related to pilot training
  • Works closely with Divisions, Operations, and other departments
  • Maintains policies associated with pilot training
  • Coordinates with Division Flight Instructors in order to facilitate consistent pilot training across the Network
  • Makes weekly progress reports to the Director of Training

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have experience with developing e-learning material
  • Must have a demonstrated record of being a strong leader
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate independent initiative to work on departmental projects

  • There can be more than one if necessary, but a maximum of one is permitted per Academy

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Director of Training
  • Oversees the operation of their respective ATC Academy
  • Creates and maintains computer-based training modules and other materials related to ATC training
  • Works closes with Divisions, Operations, and other departments
  • Maintains policies associated with their respective ATC Academy
  • Coordinates with Division ATC Instructors in order to facilitate consistent ATC training across the Network
  • Makes weekly progress reports to the Director of Training

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have experience with developing e-learning material
  • Must have a demonstrated record of being a strong leader
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate independent initiative to work on departmental projects

  • Oversees the smooth planning and execution of all events on the Network with the goal of increasing participation for each new event
  • Works closely with the Marketing Department to create targeted events based on Marketing's needs
  • Works closely with the Manager of Social Media for event promotions
  • Maintains all Network event policies
  • Coordinates with Division Events Coordinators in order to facilitate successful events
  • Makes weekly progress reports to the Director of Marketing

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have experience in creating marketing content such as videos, audio, web, etc.
  • Must have a demonstrated record of being a strong leader
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must have expert knowledge of QGIS and geoJSON
  • Must have knowledge of manipulating ATC sector data

  • Reviews Virtual Operators applications
  • Responsible for internal audits within Virtual Operators to ensure compliance with approved Ops Specs
  • Writes, approves, and maintains all master list Ops Specs
  • Maintains all Virtual Operator policies and procedures
  • Makes weekly progress reports to the Director of Operations

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have advanced knowledge about Air Operation Certificates and Ops Specs
  • Must have a demonstrated record of being a strong leader
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate independent initiative to work on departmental projects

  • Must have sufficient time to dedicate to the position

7.2.19 - Ops Inspector

  • There may be as many Ops Insectors as needed

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Manager of Air Operating Certificates
  • Conducts audits of Virtual Operators to ensure compliance with approved Ops Specs
  • Makes progress reports to the Manager of Air Operating Certificates when requested

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Must have knowledge of Air Operation Certificates and POSCON Ops Specs
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate independent initiative to work on departmental projects
  • Must have sufficient time to dedicate to the position
  • Should have 3 years of experience of flight simulation communities
  • Should have experience with Virtual Airlines

7.2.20 - Division Manager

Overview

  • Volunteer position
  • Recommended by the respective Air Operations Manager, selected by the Director of Operations, and certified by the Division membership
  • There must be one Division Manager per active POSCON Division

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the respective Air Operations Manager
  • Oversees any applicable Sub-Divisions
  • In charge of all Division activity including the growth and reputation
  • Acts as the primary point of contact within the Division
  • Manages the Division teams
  • Responsible for writing, maintaining, and enforcing policy within the Division
  • Responsible for writing and maintaining any applicable ATC SOPs
  • Consults with Division ATC Instructors and the Division Events Coordinator to determine the best suited ATC for event positions (delegated automatically to Sub-Division Managers if applicable)
  • Makes progress reports to the respective Air Operations Manager when requested

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a demonstrated record of being a strong leader
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate independent initiative to work on Division projects
  • Must sign a Volunteer Agreement
  • Must successfully pass all steps of the Division Manager Selection process
  • Must have sufficient time to dedicate to the position
  • Should have experience as a manager of flight simulation communities

7.2.21 - Sub-Division Manager

  • Appointed by the respective Division Manager
  • There must be one Sub-Division Manager per active POSCON Sub-Division

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the respective Division Manager
  • In charge of all Sub-Division activity including the growth and reputation
  • Assists and supports the Division Manager and Division teams when requested
  • Manages the Sub-Division teams
  • Responsible writing and maintaining any applicable ATC SOPs
  • Consults with Division ATC Instructors and the Division Events Coordinator to Determine the best suited ATC for even positions relevant to the Sub-Division
  • Makes progress reports to the respective Division Manager when requested

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a demonstrated record of being a strong leader
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate independent initiative to work on Sub-Division projects
  • Must sign a Volunteer Agreement
  • Must have sufficient time to dedicate to the position
  • Should have experience as a manager of flight simulation communities

  • Must have expert level software development experience
  • Must have sufficient time to dedicate to the position
  • Should have at least 3 years of flight simulation experience

  • Meets with the Managing Director two times a year in Q1 and Q3
  • Provides feedback regarding quality of pilots, ATC, and standards

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have sufficient time to dedicate to the position
  • Should have real-world aviation experience
  • Should have at least 3 years of flight simulation experience

  • Handles all support related issues, except those that deal with moderation or discipline
  • Monitors the support system and the #support channel in Discord
  • Consults with Manager of Software Quality Assurance when the issues are technical with no known resolution
  • Assists with maintaining Support Documents
  • Makes weekly progress reports to the Manager of Membership

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must possess problem solving skills
  • Must have an intermediate IT knowledge
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must sign a Volunteer Agreement
  • Must have at least 5 years of flight simulation experience
  • Must have sufficient time to dedicate to the position
  • Should have experience in direct interaction customer support/service

7.2.25 - Moderator

  • Recommended by the Manager of Moderators and approved by the Director of Support
  • There may be as many Moderators as needed

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Manager of Moderators
  • Reviews any user filed feedback, investigates, and passes a judgement adjusting points as necessary per Moderator guidelines
  • Only answers feedback relevant to their expertise
  • Whenever possible, will turn feedback into a learning opportunity for the membership
  • Answers reported issues in a timely, professional, and courteous manner
  • Makes every attempt to resolve conflicts before escalating
  • Consults with the Manager(s) of Pilot Training and Manager(s) ATC Training when they are noticing trends related to training
  • Makes weekly progress reports to the Manager of Moderators

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess excellent conflict resolution skills
  • Must sign a Volunteer Agreement
  • Must have at least 5 years of flight simulation experience

7.2.26 - Division Flight Instructor

Overview

  • Volunteer position
  • Appointed by the respective Division Manager
  • There may be more than one Flight Instructor per Division
  • There may only be one Lead per Division

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the respective Division Manager
  • Works with the Division's pilot community to increase knowledge and awareness
  • Stays up to date on regulation changes as they pertain to pilot operations within the Division
  • Assists the Manager of Pilot Training in developing and maintaining pilot CBT modules specific to the Division
  • Updates the relevant areas of the Pilot Resources repository
  • Makes progress reports to the respective Division Manager when requested

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate initiative to work on Division projects
  • Must have at least 3 years of flight simulation experience
  • Must have sufficient time to dedicate to the position
  • Should have real-world flight experience
  • Should have instructor/evaluator experience

7.2.27 - Division ATC Instructor

  • There may only be one Lead per Division

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the respective Division Manager
  • Works with the Division's ATC community to increase knowledge and awareness
  • Stays up to date on regulation changes as they pertain to ATC operations within the Division
  • Assists the Manager of ATC Training in developing and maintaining ATC CBT modules specific to the Division
  • Assists the Division Manager in writing and maintain ATC SOPs
  • Makes progress reports to the respective Division Manager when requested

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate initiative to work on Division projects
  • Must have at least 3 years of flight simulation experience
  • Must have sufficient time to dedicate to the position
  • Should have real-world ATC experience
  • Should have instructor/evaluator experience

7.2.28 - Division Events Coordinator

Overview

  • Volunteer position
  • Appointed by the respective Division Manager
  • There may be more than one Events Coordinator per Division
  • There may only be one Lead per Division

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the respective Division Manager
  • Oversees the smooth planning and execution of all Division events with the goal of increasing participation for each new event
  • Coordinates with Manager of Events for scheduling and standardization
  • Seeks feedback about Division based events and gathers data for future planning purposes
  • Works closely with adjacent Divisions to coordinate events
  • Makes progress reports to the respective Division Manager when requested

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Must have experience in creating marketing content such as videos, audio, web, etc.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate initiative to work on Division projects
  • Must have at least 3 years of flight simulation experience
  • Must have sufficient time to dedicate to the position

7.2.29 - Division Facility Data Specialist

Overview

  • Volunteer position
  • Appointed by the respective Division Manager
  • There may be more than one Facility Data Specialist per Division
  • There may only be one Lead per Division

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports to the respective Division Manager
  • Coordinates with Manager of Facility Data to learn best practices and ensure consistent facility data in the Division
  • Creates and maintains facility data within Division and Sub-Division
  • Responds promptly to support issues as it relates to Facility Data
  • Makes progress reports to the respective Division Manager when requested

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Must have intermediate knowledge of QGIS and geoJSON
  • Must have knowledge of manipulating ATC sector data
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate independent initiative to work on departmental projects
  • Must have at least 3 years of flight simulation experience
  • Must have sufficient time to dedicate to the position
