After a lot of thought and consideration, we have decided to add a throttled release plan to our roadmap which we are calling the "Invite-Only Beta" phase. This means that initially, POSCON will only be available to those individuals that have been given an invite code. This new managed plan allows us the flexibility to continue developing features while also rapidly responding to support issues. Roadmap to Release All times are subject to change! Release Phase Tester Description Operating Times ATC Coverage Number of Users NDA Required Timeline Closed Beta Testers are hand-picked by POSCON staff. 24/7 N/A 58 + Staff YES Currently Ongoing Invite-Only Beta Phase 1 Pilots: Require an invite code in order to participate. ATC: Hand-picked by POSCON staff. Schedule Limited Limited to areas selected by POSCON staff. 500-1000 NO Guaranteed by Q4 2019. Earlier release date is likely. Invite-Only Beta Phase 2 Pilots: Require an invite code in order to participate. ATC: Hand-picked by POSCON staff. Schedule Limited Limited to areas selected by POSCON staff. 1000-2000 NO Guaranteed by end of Q1 2020. Earlier release date is likely. Open Beta Pilots: Open ATC: Hand-picked by Division staff. 24/7 Limited to areas fully developed. Unlimited NO Guaranteed by Q2 2020. Release Everything open. 24/7 World Unlimited NO Approximately 1 year after Invite-Only Phase 1 release. Beta Details Who can participate? Users must possess a valid invite code in order to activate their account and become part of the beta. The following restrictions apply: Users must be at least 16 years of age or older. Users 13-15 years of age can participate only if POSCON has received hand-written parental consent. Users on any restricted or watch lists are prohibited from participating. How can you get an invite code? Initially, these codes will be distributed by our testing team and staff. We will also pick 50 people that stop by the FSExpo 2019 booth, and have registered for POSCON, to be part of the first Invite-Only beta. Winners will be emailed after FSExpo and receive a code when we release the first Invite-Only beta phase. Later, each person who is a member of the Invite-Beta will have an opportunity to invite their friends to the server. Will the Beta be open all the time, or will there be specific operating times? The POSCON Invite-Only Beta will not be open to the public 24 hours / 7 days a week; it will instead be open during specific operating times to ensure ATC and Moderator coverage as well as allow us to deploy changes without affecting user experience. As we become more comfortable with our progress and staffing, we will relax the schedule to include more operating times. Are the operating times fixed? No, the schedule will vary. On the 25th day of each month, POSCON will post an updated schedule to the public for the next month's operating times and featured ATC region. Will the Beta be "open world" or feature specific areas? It will be open world, but each month we will be focusing on a specific region in regards to ATC coverage. This does not mean that ATC will be restricted to controlling in the featured region of the month, it just means that we will ensure coverage in that region during the posted times. I want to be an ATC, can I sign up? No, ATC are hand-picked for all open beta phases. When will ATC open up to the public? ATC will open to the public when POSCON officially releases in 2020. Will ATC ratings transfer from legacy networks? Yes, a user's global rating will transfer from legacy networks for a period of 6 months after the official release of POSCON in 2020. Local certifications will be left up to the divisions and sub-divisions to decide whether they transfer or not. When will the Division Staff be selected and how will that work? POSCON will begin selecting Division staff the first few weeks after the Invite-Only beta release. Division staff will initially be appointed by POSCON staff, but later we plan to introduce a way for members to get involved in the selection process.15 points

The Invite-Only Beta is almost upon us, so it is a great time for another development update! Pending final bug fixes, we will be sending out the approval emails to the invited users soon. If you are lucky enough to get one, you will be authorized to access our software at the time you receive the email. Those who make it into Phase 1 will receive invite codes for Phase 2 to distribute at your discretion, but those codes will not be immediately available. We will keep you posted on when they become available to distribute. Here is a quick recap on the original plan for Invite-Only Beta, Phase 1 and what may or may not have changed since the announcement was first released: Pilots will require an invite code and subsequent approval in order to participate Status Update: This is still the case. All available invites have been distributed and those who received an invite are patiently waiting for the approval email, which will come soon. ATC will be hand-picked by POSCON staff and will be required to sign an NDA Status Update: This is still the case. One thing to note, however, is that we will most likely be very slowly implementing ATC. In fact, the first couple of weeks will most likely see little to no ATC coverage on the network as it still requires some additional dev work. Operating times will be schedule limited Status Update: This is no longer true. We plan to have the server up and running 24/7 as we have separated our development and production environments. We will inform everyone of scheduled down times when we make updates to the production servers. Number of users was planned at between 500-1000 Status Update: This is still the case; we have invited between 600-700 users to Phase 1. NDA is not required for Invite-Only Beta, Phase 1 Status Update: This is still the case. You are not required to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) unless you are hand-picked to be an ATC. We will continue to maintain a select group of NDA pilot beta testers to test new features in our development environment. Having said all that, now I want to take some time to outline features that made it into this phase. I think outlining these features is an important part of the process of managing expectations. Voice System One of the main blockers that prevented us from releasing POSCON sooner was the decision to completely rewrite our voice system. Six months ago we were using the TeamSpeak 3 SDK for our voice infrastructure, but we decided using TeamSpeak 3 would limit our technical growth into the future. As a result, we opted to get rid of TeamSpeak completely before any sort of public release. Over the past few months we have worked tirelessly to develop our very own custom infrastructure and I am happy to report that it is now completed. Our voice will have the following features at Invite-Only release: Voice Server Supports: Many simultaneous connections. Ground-based transceiver locations; there are currently 4,667 locations entered into our database. Propagation of transceiver locations to the Radar Client. Option for separate PTTs per radio (e.g. VHF #1 and VHF #2), separate volume controls per radio, and separate audio devices per radio. The server supports this, but the pilot clients do not support this yet. Voice Effects Supported: Full VHF simulation including: 8.33 kHz and 25 kHz spacing. Terrain line-of-sight processing. Beat simulation. End-of-transmission popping tones. Wavelength simulation. Website & Administration Another factor that prevented us from releasing POSCON sooner was the decision to build out a custom Single-Sign-On or SSO. It became apparent, as we added new products and technologies to our software suite, that the generic open-source or even payware services would not meet our needs. I am happy to report that our custom SSO has been completed and is fully functional. Here are some additional web features we will release with: GDPR compliance. A support system. Basic flight statistics. ICAO 2012 formatted flight plan form: An integrated help tutorial is provided on the page. The form validates while entering data. Feedback and generic points system. Live Map used to view online traffic (updates every 2 seconds). Users can leave feedback about each other using the map. Moderators can initiate ghosting, disconnects, and bans using the Live Map interface. Pilot Client Web UI, which can be accessed on any device with an internet connection (see below for more details). Pilot Clients, Pilot Client Web UI, & Pilot Server The Pilot Clients are by far the most completed products that we have in our software suite. They have been closely designed in parallel so that the features remain consistent across the various platforms. Once you have logged in to the network, the Pilot Client will send information about your plane’s location, altitude, attitude, as well as a number of the plane’s parameters such as gear and flap deployment, engine RPM, state of various beacon and navigation lights, transponder mode and code, etc. The Pilot Clients also receive similar information from the network about aircraft that are within range of your plane. This information is used to draw 3D models of the aircraft at their correct position and orientation. The information is also used to populate various datarefs so that your aircraft’s TCAS system will be aware of nearby planes. In addition to the aforementioned features, the Pilot Clients also feature: Enhanced ground-clamping using various methods for a smooth experience regardless of differences in terrain. Model matching. Here is how we handle model matching with the various platforms: For X-Plane, the models are distributed with the pilot client itself and contain custom model matching logic. For FSX/P3D, we have integrated the FLAi model set through our Launcher Client application (see below for more details). ICAO equipment and airline code validation. Accurate ground speed monitoring (X-Plane Only). VHF push-to-talk activation indications. AI model sounds and controls (X-Plane Only). The ability to control the maximum number of AI planes that will be displayed. In-game notification of ghosting and disconnects with explanations. The ability to manually toggle ghost mode or request to unghost. Automatic detection of change in aircraft. The Pilot Clients will automatically ghost for: Sim rate increase, entering slew mode, using replay mode, or deliberate pausing (this can also sometimes be triggered by accessing a sim menu). If you are on the ground and not moving, pausing is allowed. Connecting on or re-positioning to a runway (through a menu) will prevent connection or disconnect the user as applicable. Pilot Client Web UI Features: Some functions of CPDLC (Controller-Pilot Data Link) will be operational such as the login function and automatic squawk code assignment. Real world D-ATIS (Digital Automated Terminal Information Service) broadcasts are integrated and can be requested in real-time by pilots. The voice portion of D-ATIS is not working yet, only the text portion. METAR and TAF reports can be requested in real-time by pilots. Radio syncing. Ghost and unghost toggle. Disconnect. Pilot Server Supports: Many simultaneous connections. A variable update rate based on range. When in close proximity to other aircraft, models will update 15 times a second for a smooth visual experience. Airspace awareness. The server can determine a planes position in relation to defined airspace boundaries (both vertical and lateral). This is a very unique feature not implemented on any other network. In the future, this will enable POSCON to build many other features using this core server functionality. Launcher Client The Launcher Client is the centralized hub to keep you up-to-date on everything related to POSCON. This product was designed around the idea of "platform software" similar to what Origin, Steam, and other gaming platforms offer. The POSCON Launcher Client mirrors the content contained in the POSCON HQ, but with enhanced functionality: The ability to download, install, launch, and update all available network software. The ability to switch between development and production environments (for NDA testers only). Token authentication. Once you enter your username and password once, the Launcher Client will take care of the rest. That's it for now, we hope you enjoyed this update. In the near future we will post a list of frequently asked questions that should help first-time users when accessing the network. If you have any questions you think would be a good addition to this list, feel free to comment below! Thanks for all the support over the last few years, it continues to keep us motivated!9 points

Good morning all! Here is just a quick update on our progress since January: We launched a new marketing site! If you haven't seen it already, take a look at https://www.poscon.net . For now, we are consider this site a "launch page", but long term it will evolve into a landing page used for attracting prospective members to the network. When we launch, existing members will rarely visit this page since they will have a "portal" to access all the network features. A few notes about the marketing site: We are aware of some graphical errors on large monitors and are working to fix those errors. Expect the content to evolve over time, but the branding will remain the same for the foreseeable future. Pulling from internal recommendations from our established team, we expanded our closed beta team to over 65 testers. While no decision has been made yet in regards to further expansion, there is a pretty good possibility we will expand again in the near future. Both pilot and ATC development are making amazing headway! Expect a flood of previews to start showing up on social media in the near future. If you haven't liked/followed our pages, I strongly encourage you to do so as that is where a majority of our previews will be posted: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PosConNetwork/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/posconnetwork YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbCXFLEs2Upw2QCwUAfFIAw Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/posconnetwork Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/PosConNetwork/ Discord: https://poscon.net/discord A plan has been established for Open Beta, but we are not yet prepared to release all the details of that plan. The one thing I will say for certain is that the Open Beta will not be open 24/7. The reason for this is to ensure we always have network staff in place to handle the various issues that may arise during testing. There is definitely more I didn't mention, but I hope to make these posts a little more often now, so stay tuned for future updates. Have a pleasant weekend.8 points

Üyelik POSCON’a üyelik tamamen ücretsiz olacak.

From all of the staff, volunteers, and beta testers here at POSCON, we would like to offer you a welcome and thank you for joining us. Many have worked and contributed over the past two years (and longer, in some cases) to make POSCON become the Online Aviation Network you’ve been waiting for. Countless hours testing four popular Flight Simulator brands have created a seamless and global live multiplayer environment with a focus on new technologies and immersions. We hope you enjoy the our new platform and experience new challenges and skills, and maybe make some new friends along the way. To get started on POSCON, we recommend you spend a few minutes of your time and read the polices, procedures, and agreements before connecting for your first flight. We ask this of you because POSCON aims to have the highest standards of users (pilots and controllers alike) and administrators. Please follow the links below to begin familiarizing yourself with POSCON. Where to begin your registration: https://hq.poscon.net/register Once completed, you user homepage: http://hq.poscon.net Begin your Computer Based Training (CBT): ((will be available soon!)) Support and discussion: http://forums.poscon.net Discord community: https://poscon.net/discord Connect your Discord account to your POSCON account: https://discord.poscon.net/link We also STRONGLY recommend you look through the resources available around the site. In particular, these two documents should answer MOST of the questions you will have. https://forums.poscon.net/policies/pilots/ https://forums.poscon.net/docs/faq/ Please note that the number one question we are being asked right now is "How do I become an Air Traffic Controller on POSCON?" and the answer is SEE BELOW! The second one is "When is ATC online?" and the answer is that they will be shown on the Live Map when available. That availability will be sporadic but steadily growing as we continue to test and develop the ATC clients and support tools in our trek toward full open status. You can also check https://forums.poscon.net/calendar/ as ATC availability will periodically be pre-published here; however, continue to use the Live Map to look as well, since often ATC coverage will inevitably be impromptu in nature. Again, a sincere thank you for your interest and membership with the POSCON network. If you need any help or assistance along the way, please reach our staff and volunteers for guidance. Have fun! Sincerely, Michael M. and Rob S. Moderators, Positive Control Network5 points

As promised, here is the January 2019 POSCON development update: I am pleased to announce that on Saturday, January 19th, we officially began Closed Beta testing. Our initial test consisted of a small group of pilots and controllers that signed onto the POSCON Network and conducted a scheduled test that lasted approximately two hours. The test was a huge success and we are very excited about the next one! We plan on conducting at least 3-4 more scheduled tests before we expand our testing pool (i.e. add more people). We are not revealing a timeline of when this expansion may occur, so please do not ask. We are also no longer accepting any more testers or applications for testers. That is all for now! Please have a safe and enjoyable rest of your week.5 points

Jeez, sorry guys, I literally just saw these posts! @Sandy Yes, of course there is room for no transponder GA bush pilots! In fact, we are designing the radar systems so that you will appear as a primary target like you would in the real world. Our server update rate will be fast and smooth enough to support having a little group flight of cubs to the local fishing camp. Look, if you want guarantees... I can 100% guarantee I have your back because I prefer to fly helicopters online!5 points

Flying VFR can be one of the most freeing and rewarding experiences a pilot can have. There is no need to worry about making sure you are following your magenta line or tracking the correct radial inbound to a VOR. Can you see in front of you? Great! That's all that matters, for the most part. Flying VFR is one of the first things you learn as a pilot; in fact, until you begin instrument training, the majority of your flights will be conducted under VFR or Visual Flight Rules. VFR does not require you to follow a route or fly an instrument approach to land. You can fly whatever direction you want, provided you are complying with all applicable rules. First and foremost, before you can fly under VFR, you need to have the correct tools at your disposal. The main tool you need is a sectional chart. These charts are issued as hard copy, large scale maps by the FAA every 6 months for less than $10 a print but with today's technology you can easily access a sectional chart online for free by clicking here. When you navigate to this website, you will see a large map; make sure to click on "World VFR" in the top right corner. A sectional chart contains many different symbols, airspace boundaries, navigational aids, airways, and more. It can seem extremely overwhelming at first, but in time reading these charts will become completely natural. An easy way to quickly become familiar with how to read a sectional chart is to reference the legend which can tell you what all the symbols and colors mean. The expanded version of the legend contains a lot of great information for new pilots and you can find that here, but if you want the condensed legend you can find that here. The second major obstacle to flying VFR is learning how to properly fly the traffic pattern. The traffic pattern is the rectangular course that is used by aircraft that are flying within the vicinity of an airport for the purpose of completing a full stop landing, practice touch and goes, or departing the airport on a long cross country flight. There are 5 legs of a traffic pattern, Upwind (Departure), Crosswind, Downwind, Base, and Final. Another important factor pilots must consider is the direction of the traffic pattern; Left or Right. These 5 legs are extremely important to know because when you are flying on the POSCON Network at an uncontrolled field (an airport without a staffed tower), you will need to announce your location on the CTAF (Common Traffic Advisory Frequency). This also applies to when you are flying inbound to a towered airport; however, the air traffic controller will give you a leg of the pattern to enter depending upon the configuration of the airport at the time. If you do not know your traffic pattern legs, you could easily cause conflicts with other planes operating in the same airspace. Many new pilots get overwhelmed learning the traffic pattern. The specific factor that trips up many pilots is the left versus right traffic. An easy way to know if you are making left or right traffic is to determine where the runway is relative to your aircraft. If you are on a crosswind leg and you see the airport is to your left and slightly behind you, that means you are making left traffic. Now, the obvious question, 'How do I know when to make left or right traffic?' For that, you would consult your sectional chart. If you take a look at the second image in this blog post, you will see 3 uncontrolled airports: Old Bridge (3N6), Trenton-Robbinsville (N87), and Monmouth Exec (BLM). Look at Trenton Robbinsville; you will see at the bottom of magenta text the letters RP 29. RP stands for Right Pattern. That indicates to pilots that if you plan on landing on Runway 29, it is a right-hand traffic pattern. Now look look at Monmouth Executive and notice there is nothing under all the magenta text. That is because the FAA made it a standard that if an airport does not specifically designate a runway as right pattern, it is assumed to be left hand traffic pattern. When flying in the traffic pattern you should always maintain 1,000 feet AGL (Above Ground Level) as a piston aircraft. If you are in a jet or turbo-prop aircraft, you should maintain 1,500 feet AGL as your TPA (Traffic Pattern Altitude). To determine your TPA, you would again refer to your sectional chart and look for a bold italic number. This number indicates the airport elevation in MSL (Mean Sea Level) i.e. above sea level. If you take a look at BLM, you'll see an airport elevation of 153' MSL. In this case the TPA for piston aircraft is 1,153' MSL and the TPA for jet/turboprop aircraft is 1,653' MSL. Remember your altimeter is always set to MSL not AGL. When flying in the traffic pattern on the upwind or departure leg, you should always turn your crosswind 300 feet BELOW TPA. So, if we are flying a pattern in BLM in a Cessna 172, we should be turning crosswind at 853' which is 300' below our TPA of 1,153' When entering the traffic pattern on the 45 degree to downwind entry (see first image), you should try to plan your descent to be level TPA upon reaching the downwind leg. If you need to enter the traffic pattern from the opposite side of the pattern, you will need to execute an overflight of the airport at 500' ABOVE TPA. Once you overfly the airfield, continue outbound and start your descending teardrop entry turn to enter the 45 degree to downwind entry leg of the pattern. You should practice the overflight teardrop pattern entries as they can be tricky when the winds aloft are strong. An example of an overflight teardrop entry can be seen here. This was a flight I did when MJX (Ocean County) winds favored runway 32 and a Piper Seminole was already in the pattern. The third step, and arguably the most important, is your communication on CTAF. First, we need to know the frequency to use. If you look at the sectional chart again, the frequency that is left of the filled circled "C" is your CTAF frequency. On POSCON, the pilot must determine which frequency to broadcast on using the following order: Refer to published charts for the CTAF frequency. If you are at a typically towered airport with no ATC online, and there is no published CTAF, then refer to the POSCON Airport Advisory chart for that airport. In most cases, we have specified a frequency for you to tune to. Use 122.95 if the previous 2 steps do not provide you a frequency. Most uncontrolled airports have another frequency that is equally important to flying traffic patterns and that is the ASOS/AWOS frequency. ASOS is short for Automated Surface Observing System and AWOS is short for Automated Weather Observation System. For all intents and purposes, these two systems do the same thing - they give you an automated relay of the METAR (METeorological Aerodrome Report) for a particular airfield. POSCON plans on having ASOS/AWOS stations operational at all applicable airfields, so pilots should always tune into the ASOS/AWOS frequency and gather current weather conditions before conducting any air operations. These reports provide the wind conditions to select the correct runway in use, cloud layers, and the local altimeter setting. Once you have found CTAF frequency and have gathered the weather report from the ASOS/AWOS frequency, you now ready to transmit to your intentions to the pilots in the vicinity of the airport. If you plan on remaining in the pattern, your transmission format will be: (Airport Name) TRAFFIC, (Callsign/Type), Departing (Runway), (Direction of Traffic Pattern) Closed Traffic, (Airport Name). An example for Monmouth Executive Airport would be: Monmouth Traffic, N292SP Cessna 172, Departing Runway 14, Left Closed Traffic, Monmouth. A valid question is, 'Why would you announce your callsign AND your type of aircraft?' The callsign is important because you are identifying yourself by your registration number, but the type is easier for other pilots to identify. The problem exists when you have multiple aircraft of the same type in the area. Adding your callsign helps everyone to understand who you are and it also important if an accident occurs within the vicinity of the airport. Every leg of the traffic pattern should be announced. After you depart and you begin your left or right turn, you would say your position... in this case Crosswind. In the case of Monmouth, it would be: Monmouth Traffic, N292SP Cessna 172, Left Crosswind, 14, Monmouth. You can substitute the appropriate leg every time into that template. When you are departing the pattern and the airport vicinity, you would announce on frequency: Monmouth Traffic, 2SP Cessna 172, departing the area to the North, Monmouth. NOTE: Once you announce your full callsign once or twice, you can shorten it to the last 3 of the callsign. When turning final in the pattern, it is useful to announce on frequency your intentions. Is this a full stop? Touch and Go? Stop and Go? Low Approach? Something like: Monmouth Traffic, N292SP Cessna 172, turning Final 14, Touch and Go, Monmouth. You are not held to this intention in any way if safety becomes a concern, e.g. you botched the landing and need to conduct a full stop instead of a touch and go. That is fine, just exit the runway and advise traffic: Monmouth Traffic, 2SP Cessna 172, Clear of Runway 14, Monmouth. This tells other pilots the runway is clear for takeoffs and landings again. Never ever use the phrase 'Clear of the Active.' This is bad phraseology and does not provide any useful information as all runways that are NOT CLOSED are considered 'Active.' Last but not least we will discuss arrivals inbound to an uncontrolled field. The FAA regulations recommend that you begin your advisory announcements on CTAF no later than 10 miles from the airport. This gives plenty of time for pilots to plan and be aware of another aircraft inbound. You should always enter the traffic pattern at a 45 degree to downwind entry (see first image). If you need to overfly the field and make a teardrop turn that is fine, just do it at least 500' above pattern altitude and then begin your descending teardrop entry into the pattern while still advising traffic. Typically, pilots will monitor frequency before 10 miles out to see if anyone is in the pattern and that way they know what runway is being used and they can enter the pattern correctly. When you are 10 miles out from the airport, you can announce on frequency your locations and intentions, e.g. 'Monmouth Traffic, N292SP Cessna 172, 10 Miles to the South, entering the 45 Left Downwind for Runway 14, Monmouth.' Continue these updates at your discretion. Once established in the pattern, use your standard traffic pattern advisories as discussed earlier. Understanding how to fly in the traffic pattern may seem like a lot, and eventually mundane once mastered, but it is what will begin your journey to flying under VFR as a safe and proficient pilot.4 points

Per Andrew Heath published on Discord I will be out of town for the next few days for work, but before I go, I wanted to make a very special announcement... we have our first three Division Manager appointments! Join me in congratulating Anthony Colduck for his appointment to the UK Division Manager position, Sven Schneeweiss for his appointment to the Germany Division Manager position, and Divya Patel for his appointment to the India Division Manager! I think it is important to answer a few questions that are sure to arise from this announcement: Q: Does this mean the UK, Germany, and India Divisions are officially open? A: No, please give the Division Manager's some time to establish themselves in their new roles and create the resources members will need. Q: Can I still control in the UK, Germany, and India? A: Yes, you can still request authority access for ATC through the normal ATC Application process https://forms.gle/tu6NbXVid8WAaNMVA. PLEASE, do NOT click the "Become an ATC" button from the respective Division page. The logic on that button was not coded correctly and we will be deploying a fix for it soon. Q: Can I join the UK, Germany, or India Divisions as a pilot? A: Yes, we encourage you to join the Divisions as a pilot and also to join the respective Discords. https://hq.poscon.net/division/GBR https://hq.poscon.net/division/DEU https://hq.poscon.net/division/IND Again, for now, please DO NOT CLICK this button. Use the application link above to join as ATC.4 points

@Tim S I think you summarize the shortcomings of the VATSIM model very well. A lot of this is completely up for discussion. We are a feedback-driven company... that is to say, we really make it our mission to listen to the concerns of the users and try to figure out common sense solutions based on their feedback. Having said that, I also have a lot of great ideas in regards to ATC training, but none of which are even close to implementation at this point, they are merely concepts. I am somewhat reluctant to get into a major discussion about ATC training because of how far off that part of the project is. ATC training will be the last thing we develop because it is the least needed. When we launch into Open Beta, we can utilize a large group of well-qualified controllers that already exist on multiple networks. As we progress through the Open Beta stage, we will be shifting our focus to ATC training, Division and Sub-Division development, etc. What I will say for certain though is that we will not streamline the airspace to make it easier for hobby controllers. I believe we can create a solution that maintains realism while also ensuring quality and efficiency.4 points

Hello All, My Name is Trevor Hale, I am the Owner of http://www.cockpitbuilders.com a flight sim community for those that want to build their own Flight Simulator. Cockpitbuilders.com turns 10 Years old this August and prior to that I was a Director at www.Mycockpit.org . I am an avid Flight Simulator Hobiest and have been a Vatsim Member since 2002. I still use vatsim 3-4 days a week, and Pilot Edge just doesn't have coverage where I like to fly, not to mention the steep price tag. I have converted a Real Beechcraft 99B (N38AK) into a King Air 350i that I now Stream on Twitch with 3 nights a week. Photos and pictures of the build can be found here: http://www.cockpitbuilders.com/community/index.php?topic=1541.0 My Twitch Videos can be found Here: www.twitch.tv/cockpitbuilders Great to be here and a part of this community. Hey Guys , Is there a possibility to add an option in the ATC Client for streaming the ATC Audio (even low bitrate is fine). I was hoping POSCON can have something like LivePOSCONATC (similar to LiveATC) . It would be also a great training tool for the Newbies especially those who are nervous to communicate via Voice. It can be used by Supervisors or just enthusiast (like me) who wish to listen to certain ATC Channel ? .4 points

Looks like you are gonna have to find something better then because everyone will be taking a pilot evaluation prior to connecting. This evaluation is a short quiz to assess your knowledge. If you have thousands of hours on other networks, then you should have absolutely no problems with the eval and there will be no additional work required prior to connecting. However, there are many people that have thousands of hours on other networks and still lack basic knowledge. For those individuals, we will require and provide additional training prior to connecting.4 points

Thanks for your interest in the Positive Control Network! While we have been rather quiet on social media lately, we want to assure you that the last few months have been very productive! The POSCON team has been diligently working to develop the next generation flight simulation network.... all while keeping it 100% FREE for our users. FEATURE UPDATES Alright, now lets get to the good stuff! Unlike similar network projects that boast concept renderings of features to attract interest, we are only going to list the amazing features that we have either completed or are well into the development phase on: A server update rate that will allow for formation flying. This has always been a benchmark for our development team and by using modern server development techniques, such as those in online action games, this will be a reality. Web-based pilot client. This may sound weird, but it is going to be absolutely amazing! Imagine being able to leave your computer to run an errand, make dinner, or even watch the football game! This is totally possible with a web-based pilot client. You will be able to answer messages, connect or disconnect, and access a whole host of features from your tablet or mobile device. Air traffic controllers, how about putting your printers to good use? Flight strips will be both electronic and printable. In all cases, flight strips will remain in the FDIO (Flight Data Input/Output) system after a user logs off, so the sequence at a tower will not be lost. Real world D-ATIS (Digital Automated Terminal Information Service) broadcasts will be available 100% of the time even at unstaffed airports that support D-ATIS. POSCON recently became an official provider of digital services from the FAA, and D-ATIS is just one of the many services we will be integrating into POSCON. Voice communication will mirror the real world precisely. We can guarantee, with confidence, that our voice protocol will meet or exceed your expectations. How can we guarantee this? Because real world airline pilots and controllers are on our team and testing every aspect of our network to ensure high fidelity! UPDATE ON DONATIONS A few months ago we stopped accepting donations from the community. This decision was made because POSCON found an angel investor to fund the entire project for years to come. This was a huge step that really turned this project from a dream into a reality. For those of you that generously contributed money early on, you will get everything that you were promised and more. We will not forget your generosity and will be reaching out to each contributor personally in the coming months to advise you of the benefits you will receive at launch. For everyone else, please SAVE YOUR MONEY. We are aware that there are other network projects currently soliciting donations from you, but why waste your hard earned money? Why donate to a network that will just turn around and charge monthly subscription fees after launch? POSCON wants to assure everyone that our network release is forthcoming and, when it is released, it will be completely FREE!! We will not be charging user fees or subscriptions. UPDATE ON RELEASE We're excited to share that we now have a target date for beta of June 2018. The POSCON team is working extremely hard to have a beta ready to showcase during FSExpo 2018 in Las Vegas, NV. For more information on FSExpo, visit their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FlightSimExpo/ NEXT STEPS So what now? The best way you can help POSCON is to join the conversation on social media. Like and follow our pages, and SHARE the project with your friends. This will allow us to attract the attention this project deserves! In the coming weeks we will post additional feature updates to social media only, so don't miss out on the news: LIKE our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/PosConNetwork/ FOLLOW us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/posconnetwork FOLLOW us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/posconnetwork/ Sincerely, The POSCON Team4 points

I actually rather not reveal our master plan to how this will work, but pilot training has been well thought out and planned. A couple of things that I will reveal: There will be an entrance "evaluation". There will be a way that pilots are held accountable for blatant mistakes. There will be a "ranking" system. I want to keep this part of the project a little bit vague because it will separate us from other networks. It is extremely hard not to tell all the details because I am super excited about it.4 points
