Hello KSI, As for your forth question, yes there is an import button that takes `.fpl` files in the Flight Plan Creation page, as shown here: Not related, but you might also want to link your Discord account, if you have one. The public POSCON Discord is an easy and quick way to get support in the appropriate channels. The administrators and moderators always keep an eye there. Not that they don't do here, but thought I'd let you know!

Hello Alexander, As far as I'm aware, the ATIS functionality isn't completely available at this time, but the developers are working slowly to get it up and running. You may however request a METAR from WEB UI under Company > WX Request.

This week we are going to the United Arab Emirates, and we will conduct our VFR session at Dubai Intl. [OMDB]. Overview Dubai International Airport [OMDB] is the primary international airport serving Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is the world's busiest airport by international passenger traffic. It is also the fifth-busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic, the sixth-busiest cargo airport in the world, the busiest airport for Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 movements, and the airport with the highest average number of passengers per flight. Emphasis Items Due to the nature of the airspace surrounding the airport, being situated next to 3 other airports (Sharjah Intl, Al-Maktoum Intl, and Al-Minhad AB), the VFR standard operating procedures are very specific and strict. It is mandatory to operate within the declared VFR Routes in the U.A.E AIP. Tower is equipped with a radar, and most likely is going to issue a unique transponder code to all VFR and IFR flights. Traffic aiming to conduct VFR circuits will be given taxi to the southern runway (12R/30L) and will remain south of the airfield at all times, maintaining 1,000 ft. AMSL. VFR traffic leaving the Dubai Control Zone will need a clearance via a VR (VFR Route). Refer to the UAE AIP Chart to familiarize yourself with the VFR Routes and Visual Reporting Points. Extra: Dubai CTA VFR Routes Dubai CTA Visual Reporting Points Although this group flight is for VFR operations, IFR departures will be controlled and will need to comply with published SIDs. I don't think many would mind what region the flights are focused at, what 's important is to try and figure out what time could suit US-based and European-based users the most. For that, I know most EU-based people will be active between 1200z and 2300z tops. If US-based members can make a compromise, we can target a Saturday or a Sunday when most people are home without obligations and can fly. -

I did know about position reports and that there are no radars for controllers, that's why I wanted to know more about their procedures in depth. Your answer gives me a clearer vision on how things are going, so thank you @Veselko C.! I still want more details though ? -
I've had this curious matter of Oceanic flights in my head for a long time. I have not flown any trans-Atlantic flights in any flight simulator because I have no idea what to expect. I have watched some videos in the past, but I still don't get the way it works. How does it look from pilots' perspective? What do they need to learn more than regular pilots who don't fly Oceanic? For ATC, what are the procedures like and what makes Oceanic ATC different?

Touching on some of the points above, and as Zachary said, it is crucial that POSCON avoids repeating the mistakes committed in the past by other 'legacy' networks. ATC Training has been a huge part of my duties as the only staff member in one of the networks only because I was the only active member qualified enough to provide basic training. And of course, since I am not that experienced, training takes more effort, longer time, and many mistakes to be able to perfect it as much as possible. There was never a reliable system for ATC training to be adopted for the division's needs, so we had to improvise and make our own ways. Centralization brings comfort to my ears honestly. If only we had some base to build upon, the whole task of mentoring a new air traffic controller would sound more pleasing. Looking forward to this part of POSCON!

Thanks Jarrett for this nice informative post. I have a question though. I have seen this 'W' indicator before when controlling using Euroscope, I could understand that it was an RVSM indicator. But where in the flight plan (at least the ICAO format) is it indicated?

Hello again, As far as SOPs go, we previously created a document for VATSIM pilots flying in/out of OJAI with simple outlines: here. Aslo, for air traffic controllers willing to control in Jordan, @Mahmoud Fadli has created some documents long ago that I took as a reference to make a new one: here. For POSCON, I intend to help making newer versions, probably more detailed and with proper referencing to the official AIP. I wonder what POSCON is looking for or expecting the ACCs to deliver and how to deliver it. I can get help from many pilots and controllers in Jordan (hopefully), and I welcome help from any Jordanians here who joined and are willing to assist! -

Hey guys, Our current sector files are in (.SCT) format, negative (.SCT2). As Mahmoud stated, I made some minor changes to those files, adding waypoints and SIDs, and also making a new ground layout. We have the latest charts for our main airport (OJAI) from the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC). Let me know if there's anything I can do, always ready!
