Due to a lack of interest in the VFR Sessions as a standalone event, we will be combining tower staffing with the ATC group flights going forward. The weekend of the 10th and 11th, there are no scheduled events.

Introducing POSCON Weekly VFR Sessions Join us every Saturday between 1700z and 1930z as we staff up regional air traffic control towers on the Positive Control Network with live ATC. This is a great opportunity to practice your aviation phraseology and get feedback from controllers on how you are doing, while simultaneously helping POSCON test the ATC system. Come and enjoy your new Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 with POSCON's high refresh/update rates and unmatched audio technology. How will it work? Every Saturday, we will staff up a new air traffic control tower and guarantee air traffic control service from 1700z to 1930z. What is the best way to participate? That's totally up to you! The goal is for you to practice your phraseology and enjoy the most realistic VFR experience on any network available. Here are some suggestions though: Spawn up at a ramp and request to join the traffic pattern. Fly-in from a remote location. Depart and fly a cross-country. Where can I find more information? Check this forum thread every Friday to learn what the weekly featured airport is and any specific procedures that will apply to that particular airfield. I am a newbie, can I attend? Of course! These events are designed to accommodate all experience levels. Attention Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 Users! Make sure multiplayer is turned off within the sim or you will see traffic that is not connected to POSCON.

We are pleased to announce the release of POSCON's X-Plane Pilot Client 1.1 Beta 8. This release brings a whole host of changes including: Completely new user interface. Support for the new TCAS API that exists in X-Plane 11.50. Basically, this allows you to see more than 19 aircraft on TCAS and you no longer need to set up ASK21s. VR support. New multiplayer traffic library. A much larger selection of multiplayer models. Yes, the Concorde is now in there! New joystick/key bindings for ghost/unghost toggling. The ability to control VHF radio volume from the virtual cockpit. This uses a custom LUA script that needs to be installed into the X-Plane\Resources\plugin\FlyWithLua\Scripts folder. See the UserGuide.pdf included with the new client for more information. New connection dialog and logic. Optional traffic labels. Get the new pilot client by running the POSCON Launcher Client and it should auto-update your software. If it does not, run the Removal Tool and try a clean install of the POSCON Launcher Client.

I am pleased to announce that Matt Bromback has been promoted to be our next Director of Training! As a real-world airline pilot, flight instructor, and flight simulation enthusiast for over 20 years, Matt is more than qualified to serve as the Director of Training for the POSCON Network. Matt and I have known each other for over 10 years and have a history of flying together IRL at a previous airline job. We share a similar vision to how the network training will be designed and administered. I am confident he will be able to create the best training environment available on flight simulation for both virtual pilots and air traffic controllers alike. Join me in congratulating Matt on his new role!

Since the Invite-Only Beta release on April 1st, 2020, there have been many revisions to our software clients; here is a list of the most up-to-date versions: Current Client Software Versions. If you haven't flown on POSCON in a while, it is likely that the software installed on your PC has been rendered obsolete. You can attempt to open the Launcher Client and let the software auto-update, but in some cases of extremely old versions, our auto-updater system will not install the software correctly and you will be unable connect to the network. If you are operating old software, we recommend you download the POSCON Software Removal Tool. This tool will remove all traces of POSCON software and allow you to start with a fresh Launcher Client install. ONLY USE THE FOLLOWING MANUAL REMOVAL PROCEDURE IF THE SOFTWARE REMOVAL TOOL DOES NOT WORK! This procedure is designed for those users who are still having errors after using the POSCON Software Removal Tool. 1. Remove the POSCON Launcher Client: In your Windows search bar, type "Add or remove programs" and then hit <ENTER> to access Apps & features section of Windows settings. Search for "POSCON" and locate "POSCON Launcher Beta" then click "Uninstall". 2. Remove all POSCON related AppData: In your Windows search bar, type "%AppData%" and then hit <ENTER> to access the AppData folders. By default, this brings you to AppData\Roaming. Search in AppData\Roaming and AppData\Local for any folders containing the name "POSCON" and remove them. In order to find AppData\Local, go one folder level back. 3. Remove the Pilot Client(s): For FSX/P3D users, typically this will be accomplished when you delete the folders from Step #2; however, if you installed the POSCON FSX/P3D Pilot Client to a different directory, you are going to need to locate that directory and delete it. For X-Plane users, locate your X-Plane root directory and navigate to Resources\plugins and delete the "POSCON" folder. 4. Clear browser cache and POSCON related cookies: There is no need to delete all your cookies. You can if you want, but it's only required to delete all the "POSCON" ones only. This includes cookies from the POSCON HQ, SSO, Forums, etc. Chrome: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox Internet Explorer: please use a modern browser. 5. Remove POSCON related Windows credentials: In your Windows search bar, type "Credential Manager" and then hit <ENTER> to access the Windows Credential Manager. Click on the "Windows Credentials" tab. Expand "POSCONauth/launcher" and then click "Remove". Expand "POSCON/JWT" and then click "Remove". 6. Download and Install Latest Launcher Executable. The latest Launcher Client can be found on the POSCON HQ: https://hq.poscon.net/library

Andrew Heath replied to Andrew Heath's topic in General Discussion
Still working on the MVPs in order to get to the stress test. There is one major issue holding us back. We had a meeting last night and hopefully can have a solution in the coming days.
