  1. Yes it is, I am gonna lock it. All responses can be made in the other topic (reference above).
  2. @Tim S I think you summarize the shortcomings of the VATSIM model very well. A lot of this is completely up for discussion. We are a feedback-driven company... that is to say, we really make it our mission to listen to the concerns of the users and try to figure out common sense solutions based on their feedback. Having said that, I also have a lot of great ideas in regards to ATC training, but none of which are even close to implementation at this point, they are merely concepts. I am somewhat reluctant to get into a major discussion about ATC training because of how far off that part of the project is. ATC training will be the last thing we develop because it is the least needed. When we launch into Open Beta, we can utilize a large group of well-qualified controllers that already exist on multiple networks. As we progress through the Open Beta stage, we will be shifting our focus to ATC training, Division and Sub-Division development, etc. What I will say for certain though is that we will not streamline the airspace to make it easier for hobby controllers. I believe we can create a solution that maintains realism while also ensuring quality and efficiency.
  3. @Jay Williams Yes, there is forum thread about it: There will be no rewards given for pilots that deal with emergencies, thus they are not "encouraged". 121.5 will be used mainly to get ahold of aircraft that have not checked in on a particular ATC frequency.
  4. I understand your concern and trust me, I thought long and hard about it during the development process. What it ultimately boils down to though is that, while POSCON will be a free service open to the public, it is not a public utility. The network will have things that some may deem a limitation but that others, and arguably the majority, view increases the overall experience for all users. Having said that, exceptions can and will be made for people with disabilities, but I must stress that what we provide for them will not be offered to all users. People with disabilities will have to reach out to us directly so that we can hopefully work around their specific needs.
  5. Look in the clubs section.
  6. It is possible to use radio without radar on POSCON.
  7. Yes, I think it would really be left up to the Divisions to determine if they want to do something like that. If they do decide to allow those frequencies to be opened, then it needs to be very clear in the documentation how that works and who is authorized to control it.
  8. It is totally possible, the question really is who would want to operate that radio station? Seems like it would be pretty boring. ?
  9. I am willing to concede that to VATSIM. @Tim S - POSCON will have ways to maintain a connection, even when you are not able to utilize voice, but there will be some limitations and mainly those have to do with when you are taxiing, taking off, or landing.

  13. @Trevor Hale Nice!
  14. Not sure what you mean? What are you looking for?
  15. Most autopilots will typically bank anywhere between 25-30 degrees below FL250 and around 12-15 degrees above FL250. This is due to the loss of lift experienced while turning at higher altitudes. However, I really don't think this is what you are experiencing. First of all, it generally is hard to feel/visualize the control movements as a passenger. A good example of this is while the airplane is in a cloud... 9 times out of 10 you probably wouldn't know if the aircraft was turning left or right as a passenger. Pilots have a better grasp of what is going on because they are looking at the instruments. But I think the biggest factor is that most routes are generally straight and attempt to follow a great circle routing. This means that there are very few "bends" in the route where a large change in direction is required. Also, in the real world, ATC are constantly giving shortcuts to aircraft which tends to "straighten" the route significantly. Hope this helps.
  16. Our simulation will be like the real world: Published CTAF or UNICOM frequency on Comm #1 when in the vicinity of an uncontrolled airfield. When outside of the airport environment, and in uncontrolled airspace, Comm #1 should be set to 123.45 Comm #2 should be set to 121.5 at all times, unless unable due to operational reasons. There will be no "text" on POSCON. We have something better planned.
  17. @Connor Budworth
  18. I will be in the following locations in March 2019: Miami, March 14th and 15th Brasilia, Brazil, March 16th and 17th Las Vegas, March 22nd and 23rd St. Lucia, March 30th and 31st
  19. @Ray Sotkiewicz Fantastic sim dude! That's the plane I cut my teeth on IRL... I have something like 4000 hours TT in the BE1900D. Welcome to POSCON!
  20. @Nasser Bader
  21. @Artem Zhuk Awesome. We have actually closed off the database we were working with for now - we are integrating it into the system. When that is done, we will add some more languages.
  22. @Veljko Djeic Shoot us an application so we have your name on record as wanting to help: We probably will pull from that application pool when we expand testing.
  23. @Veljko Djeic Thanks for your interest, we are not currently accepting any more testers. Stay tuned though, eventually, we will be expanding our tester pool.
  24. @Andrea Mazzoni I will post a month before on the forums - I don't have a specific date for any of those destinations yet.
  25. I recently traveled to Asia and visited with members of the Hong Kong division (see pic below). We had a great discussion about the future of POSCON in Asia. I will periodically post updates of when I travel, please feel free to reach out to me and we can arrange meetings to discuss POSCON in detail! Here are my 2019 summer travel destinations: Amsterdam Edinburgh Shannon/Limerick Zurich Lisbon Berlin Bologna Dubrovnik
