  9. A "section" is where content can be entered into a document through the WYSIWYG editor. If a standard "category" type has been added to a document, Editors can manage the sections in that category by clicking on the document icon located on the same line. Once pressed, Editors are taken to a page that likely is blank if you are just creating the page. Clicking the "Add Section" button will allow you
  10. Categories can be added two different ways. Adding Primary Categories The easiest way to add Primary Categories (the highest level categories) is to use the "Add Category" button in the top-right corner of the document. This button will create categories similar to User Manuals, Frequently Asked Questions, and Contact Us from the example above. Once pressed, Editors are presented with the "Add Category" form. Notice that the "No Parent" box is automatically checked when using the "Add Category" button; this ensures the Category will be the highest level. Parent Category - Used to organize the document categories. You can check the "No Parent" box in order to ensure the Category is placed at the highest level. Name - This is the name that will be used in the database and in the title of the document. Navigation Menu Title - This is an alternate name that may be used for the both the left-side and breadcrumb navigation menus. Modify Sections - What groups have permission to modify sections within the category. If "Use Default" is checked, the system will use the permissions set for that specific document in the AdminCP. Approve Sections - What groups have permission to approve section modifications within the category. If "Use Default" is checked, the system will use the permissions set for that specific document in the AdminCP. Adding Sub-Categories The second way categories can be added is by clicking the plus sign icon located on the same line of a Primary Category or a Heading Category. Once pressed, Editors are presented with the "Add Sub-Category" form. Notice that the "No Parent" box is automatically unchecked when using this method because the system is automatically placing the sub-category under a primary category. Parent Category - Used to organize the document categories. You can check the "No Parent" box in order to ensure the Category is placed at the highest level. Category Type - This determines the type of category you are creating. Category - Sections and content can be added directly to this category. Heading - Can only contain child categories. No content can be added directly. External URL - Will open the external link in a separate window. Name - This is the name that will be used in the database and in the title of the document. Navigation Menu Title - This is an alternate name that may be used for the both the left-side and breadcrumb navigation menus. URL Slug - Allows Editors to change the URL slug if it is undesirable. If left blank, the system will use the category name for the URL. For example, if a category titled "End User License Agreement" was left unmodified, then it would result in "/docs/policies/legal/end-user-license-agreement". Modifying this to "eula" would result in "/docs/policies/legal/eula". Modify Sections - What groups have permission to modify sections within the category. If "Use Default" is checked, the system will use the permissions set for that specific document in the AdminCP. Approve Sections - What groups have permission to approve section modifications within the category. If "Use Default" is checked, the system will use the permissions set for that specific document in the AdminCP. Editing Categories Categories can be edited by clicking the middle icon located on the same line as the category for which you want to edit. Once pressed, Editors are presented with the "Edit Category" form. The functionality of this forum is similar to the adding category forms above. Deleting Categories Categories can be deleted by clicking the trash icon located on the same line as the category for which you want to delete. If you are attempting to delete a sub-category, the system will prompt you to confirm. If confirmed, the sub-category is deleted completely from the database. If you are attempting to delete a category, then you will be presented with the "Delete Category" form. Handle Sub-Categories - You have the option to move all sub-categories to another category or delete all sub-categories. Move to Category - Only required if you selected "Move to another category" from above.
  11. Managing the database structure is the first step to organizing your document. There are two permissions required to manage the database structure: Read Database - Allows Editors to view the structure, but not modify it. Edit Database Structure - Allows Editors to view and edit the structure. Click on the "Manage Database Structure" button located in the top-right corner of the document. This action will bring you to the database, if there is already one established.   12. Divisions on POSCON are arranged into groups based on those that share similar regional, operational, and/or training characteristics. We have done our best to make proper correlations; however, in some cases it may not be the best arrangement. If a Division Manager believes that their Division is better suited in a different group, then they may petition the Director of Operations for rearrangement. The Director of Operations may authorize Air Operations Managers to manage a single group of Divisions or multiple groups of Divisions based on necessity. The Director of Training may authorize ATC Training Managers to create multiple Training Academies that correlate to groups in order to facilitate shared training across similar Divisions. See Policies > Network > Divisions > Training for more info.
  13. The Documents System was designed with four user types in mind: Readers - Users who have the permission to view documents, but not the permission to modify them. Editors - Users who have the permission to modify sections of a document and, in some cases, even the structure of the document, but do not have the permission to approve/publish changes. Publishers - Users who have the permission to do all that Editors can do, but can also approve/publish changes. Administrators - Users who have the permission to create documents and modify their permissions. POSCON Members (Pilot and Controllers) are automatically granted Readers access to most documents. In rare cases, a Member may be given Editors access to help out with a particular project but this shall only be on a temporary basis. Sub-Division staff, including the Sub-Division Managers, are automatically granted Editors access to Division documentation. Division Managers have the option to restrict Sub-Division staff access to those categories that pertain to their particular Sub-Division. In all cases, edits must be reviewed and approved by Division staff prior to publishing. Division staff, including the Division Managers, are automatically granted Publishers access to Division documentation. Air Operations Managers must be manually granted Publishers access to all relevant Division documentation by the Director of Operations. The Director of Operations, and all other Network Directors, are automatically granted Administrators access.
  14. The POSCON Documents System is the result of a three months collaboration between the POSCON development team and a highly respected Invision Community developer. Our goal was to create a custom documents system that is robust enough to handle the needs of the entire network as well as create a consistent user experience for editors, publishers, and readers. The system is still a work in progress and more features are still planned, but for now here is a comprehensive list of the currently deployed features: Tabbed, searchable, and reusable content Breadcrumb navigation as well as left-side navigation with various categorizing options Automatic table of contents within categories Revision dates Different access levels for editors and publishers A rich WYSIWYG editor that maintains pasted formatting Tabbed content Table generation The ability to track and revert changes The ability to approve changes (publisher feature) The Documents System can be found at https://forums.poscon.net/docs
  15. 5g.7.1 Policies. Divisions must follow all POSCON Network and Legal policies. Divisions are not permitted to publish their own general policies, but instead may receive approval for certain exemptions and deviations from POSCON policies. Those exemptions and deviations must be published at the official Division documents location (see below). 5g.7.1 Contradictions. If there is a contradiction between Division documents and POSCON Network and Legal policies, then POSCON Network and Legal policies must always take precedence. 5g.7.2 Documents Location. The official source for all Division and Sub-Division documents is: https://forums.poscon.net/docs/<3 letter division code> Documents that exist at any other source other than that mentioned above are not official and shall not be enforced on the POSCON Network. 5g.7.3 ATC Documents. Divisions and Sub-Divisions are required to publish ATC specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) and letters of agreement (LOAs). When published, these documents are considered policy. The Division Manager may, at his/her discretion, delegate the maintaining of the above policies to respective staff team members. 5g.7.4 Exemptions and Deviations. Divisions are permitted to publish exemptions and deviations from POSCON Network policies. When these exemptions and deviations exist, then they take precedence over the referenced policy. The following rules apply to exemptions and deviations: Each exemption or deviation must receive specific approval from the Director of Operations. Under no circumstance can the Division be exempted or deviate from POSCON Legal policies. Only the Division Manager may apply for an exemption or deviation. The Division Manager is responsible for maintaining the exemptions and deviations. The exemptions and deviations must be categorized into the following categories: General ATC Training (if applicable) Pilot Training (if applicable) Events Military (if applicable) 5g.7.5 Enforcement. Enforcement of POSCON Division policies, associated exemptions and deviations, and ATC SOPs/LOAs is ultimately the responsibility of the Division Manager. Division Managers may take the following policy enforcement actions: Remove Controller Authorizations (if applicable); or Remove members from a Sub-Division (if applicable); or Remove members from the Division itself While ATC SOPs and LOAs are considered policies, Division Managers should use extreme caution when enforcing ATC SOPs and LOAs. It is important that Division Managers recognize the difference between inadequate training versus blatant disregard for the ATC SOP or LOA and apply the enforcement accordingly. In all cases, Division Managers should attempt first to observe trends in behavior before rendering a final decision. 5g.7.6 Language Usage. All Division specific documentation must be available in English; however, local language versions may also be published.
  16. 5g.6.1 Overview. The HQ handles Division and Sub-Division permissions based on "teams" rather than individual access. In other words, when a staff member is added to a team that has specific permissions, then that staff member will receive the same permissions as other staff members on that team. Staff members on Division Teams will inherit the respective Sub-Division Teams' access, but not the other way around. 5g.6.2 Authorized Teams. In order to ensure standardization throughout the Network, the following are the only authorized Division Teams: Administrators Events Facility Data ATC Instructors Pilot Instructors Technical Writers
  17. 5g.1.1 Definitions. See the definition of Divisions and Sub-Divisions in the POSCON Glossary. 5g.1.2 Formation Policy. A Division or Sub-Division may be formed only if a majority of POSCON Directors agree that the Division or Sub-Division is operationally necessary. For example, if the Division would only consist of one member, then it likely would not be deemed as operationally necessary. 5g.1.3 Placeholders. POSCON has created a list of placeholder Divisions and their associated clubs on the forum which members can join to show their support. Once a Division is officially recognized, it will be indicated as "Active" on the Division List. The initial Division Manager Selection process may be conducted before or after the Division is officially recognized. 5.g.1.4 Consideration for Creation. The best way to get your favorite Division or Sub-Division considered for creation is to help develop facility data. If you want to get involved in facility data development, email [email protected]. Please note that members who help develop facility data will not automatically be given leadership roles, but their opinion of who should be in charge will be highly considered. Please see Division Leadership for the policy on how leadership roles are chosen.
  18. If any provision of this Agreement shall be held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect. To the extent any express or implied restrictions are not permitted by applicable laws, these express or implied restrictions shall remain in force and effect to the maximum extent permitted by such applicable laws.
  19. This Agreement is governed by the laws of Delaware, without regard to Delaware’s conflict or choice of law provisions. Each party shall be responsible for its own costs and Attorneys Fees regardless of outcome.
  20. The Software Product does not enable you to record all of your electronic activity. However, you may choose to upload or broadcast your use of the Software Product on POSCON. Such uploads or broadcasts include but are not limited to gameplay (“Content Videos”), or uploads or broadcasts of the Content Videos on services such as Twitch.tv and YouTube. If you choose to upload or broadcast Content Videos that feature or otherwise include the Software Product, you are solely responsible for your Content Videos and assume all risk arising from your use of third-party websites, services, and networks. You represent and warrant that you are the creator and owner of any Content Videos or otherwise have sufficient rights and authority to post or publish them. By using, featuring, and/or including the Software Product in any upload, publication, or broadcast of any Content Videos on third party websites, services, or networks, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless POSCON and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, disputes, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (“Claims”) arising out of or in any way connected with your Content Videos, including but not limited to Claims that your Content Videos (a) infringe, violate, or misappropriate any third party right, including copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, moral right, privacy or publicity rights, or any other intellectual property or proprietary right; or (b) slander, defame, or libel any other person.
  21. All title and intellectual property rights in and to the Software Product (including but not limited to any images, photographs, animations, video, audio, music, text, and “applets” incorporated into the Software Product), the accompanying printed materials, and any copies of the Software Product are owned by POSCON, its suppliers, its partners, or third parties who have licensed portions of the Software Product to POSCON. All title and intellectual property rights in and to the content which may be accessed through use of the Software Product is the property of the respective content owner and may be protected by applicable copyright or other intellectual property laws and treaties. This Agreement grants you no rights to use such content. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by POSCON.
  22. Each license provided hereunder has a duration starting from the date of download and ending at the end of use of the Software Product, subject to earlier termination as provided in this section, below. This Agreement remains in effect for as long as you continue to use the Software Product, or if this Agreement is terminated by either party. Without prejudice to any other rights, POSCON may terminate this Agreement if you fail to comply with the terms and conditions of this Agreement. In such event, you must destroy all copies of the Software Product and all of its component parts. You may terminate the Agreement at any time by destroying all copies of the Software Product in your possession or control. This Agreement will automatically terminate, with or without notice from POSCON, if your fail to comply with any of the terms and conditions hereof. In such event, you must, at POSCON’s option, either destroy or return all copies of the Software Product and all of its component parts in your possession or control. If you commence or participate in any legal proceeding against POSCON, then POSCON may, in its sole discretion, suspend or terminate all license grants and any other rights provided under this Agreement during the pendency of such legal proceedings.
  23. You hereby acknowledge that the Software Product accesses and collects both non-personally identifiable information and personally identifiable information about you and your computer system as well as configures your computer system in order to (a) properly optimize your computer system for use with the Software Product, (b) deliver content through the Software Product, (c) improve POSCON products and services, and (d) deliver marketing communications. Information collected by the Software Product includes, but is not limited to, your computer system’s (i) hardware configuration and ID, (ii) operating system and driver configuration, (iii) performance, and usage data, and (iv) usage metrics of the Software Product. To the extent that you use the Software Product, you hereby consent to all of the foregoing, and represent and warrant that you have the right to grant such consent. In addition, you agree that you are solely responsible for maintaining appropriate data backups and system restore points for your computer system, and that POSCON will have no responsibility for any damage or loss to your computer system (including loss of data or access) arising from or relating to (a) any changes to the configuration, application settings, environment variables, registry, drivers, BIOS, or other attributes of your computer system (or any part of your computer system) initiated through the Software Product, if any; or (b) installation of any software or third party software patches initiated through the Software Product, if any. The Software Product may contain links to websites and services. POSCON encourages you to review the privacy statements on those sites and services that you choose to visit so that you can understand how they may collect, use, and share your personally identifiable information. POSCON is not responsible for the privacy statements or practices of sites and services controlled by other companies or organizations. For more information on POSCON’s collection, use, and disclosure of information from the Software Product and users, please refer to POSCON’s privacy policy available at https://forums.poscon.net/privacy/
  24. Your remedy for a breach of this Agreement or of any warranty included in this Agreement is the correction or replacement of the Software Product. Selection of whether to correct or replace shall be solely at the discretion of POSCON. POSCON reserves the right to substitute a functionally equivalent copy of the Software Product as a replacement. If POSCON is unable to provide a replacement or substitute Software Product or corrections to the Software Product, your sole alternate remedy shall be to uninstall and remove any copy of the Software Product licensed to you. Any claim must be made within one year of installation of the Software Product. All warranties cover only defects arising under normal use and do not include malfunctions or failure resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, problems with electrical power, acts of nature, unusual temperatures or humidity, improper installation, computer viruses, installations on unauthorized devices, decompiling, “reverse-engineering,” or any damage or act determined by POSCON to have been caused by you. All limited warranties on the Software Product are granted only to you and are non-transferable. You agree to indemnify and hold POSCON harmless from all claims, judgments, liabilities, expenses, or costs arising from your breach of this Agreement and/or acts or omissions.
  25. The Software Product, all accompanying files, data and materials, are distributed "AS IS" and with no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. You must assume all risk of using the Software Product. This disclaimer of warranty constitutes an essential part of the Agreement. UNLESS OTHERWISE EXPLICITLY AGREED TO IN WRITING BY POSCON, POSCON MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IN FACT OR IN LAW, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OTHER THAN AS SET FORTH IN THIS AGREEMENT OR IN THE LIMITED WARRANTY DOCUMENTS PROVIDED WITH THE SOFTWARE PRODUCT. POSCON MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT THE SOFTWARE PRODUCT WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR OPERATE UNDER YOUR SPECIFIC CONDITIONS OF USE. POSCON MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT OPERATION OF THE SOFTWARE PRODUCT WILL BE SECURE, ERROR FREE, OR FREE FROM INTERRUPTION. YOU MUST DETERMINE WHETHER THE SOFTWARE PRODUCT SUFFICIENTLY MEETS YOUR REQUIREMENTS FOR SECURITY AND UNINTERRUPTABILITY. YOU BEAR SOLE RESPONSIBILITY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY LOSS INCURRED DUE TO FAILURE OF THE SOFTWARE PRODUCT TO MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS. POSCON WILL NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, BE RESPNOSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR THE LOSS OF DATA ON ANY COMPUTER OR INFORMATION STORAGE DEVICE. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL POSCON, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES OR AGENTS BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY OTHER PARTY FOR INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING LOST REVENUES OR PROFIT OR LOSS OF BUSINESS) RESULTING FROM THIS AGREEMENT, OR FROM THE FURNISHING, PERFORMANCE, INSTALLATION, OR USE OF THE SOFTWARE PRODUCT, WHETHER DUE TO A BREACH OF CONTRACT, BREACH OF WARRANTY, OR THE NEGLIGENCE OF POSCON OR ANY OTHER PARTY, EVEN IF POSCON IS ADVISED BEFOREHAND OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TO THE EXTENT THAT THE APPLICABLE JURISDICTION LIMITS POSCON’S ABILITY TO DISCLAIM ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, THIS DISCLAIMER SHALL BE EFFECTIVE TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED.
