Hi friends, POSCON introduced very nice option is called Ghost Mode. It works in two ways. 1. During Taxi out to Take off time or approaching – landing to taxi in, if we pause our sim / crashed /some technical glitch happens POSCON automatically on Ghost mode. It means my aircraft will invisible in network but I can see other traffics. It helps other traffics & ATC controllers to run situation very easily without any disturbance. In the WEB UI there is a lot of blue that doesn't seem to activate and the ones that do activate seem to really do nothing for the flight. But probably just beta situations. Hello all, I have been thinking and want to suggest if others would like to help me back an idea of having a Eurocontrol position on POSCON. What I mean by this is not to have a position like Vatsim, controlling every square inch of europe converted into 6 callsigns controlling roughly 6 sectors, I mean to be able to have some sort of collaborative decision making system which allows skilled air traffic controllers who get mentored on this CDM system to manage the airspace above Europe and other areas in order to maintain an efficient and fast moving flow of aircrafts through the appropriate secotrs. I want to stress if this did go ahead that the position to be only us…

is there plans to provide simple AI ATC; say radar for areas that don't normally have any ATC controllers or for times that ATC is offline? kind regards, PJ

I see that there are bot planes in the first public release of POSCON, I hope I am not wrong. If it doesn't, I hope POSCON can allow atc of less popular airports to generate traffic. For the first few times, atc has to manually type the route and other stuff of the flight plan for them. After the database is big enough, the system will auto pick a flight when the atc request generating a flight. To control these planes, atc has to manually select the speed and direction/taxiway for them with their mouse, while speaking on the radio simulating a conversation with the bot pilot. POSCON do not need to simulate the bot pilot's reply. The atc will do the pilot's read-back…

Do you really think there is need of human examiners for ATC training? Test with questions and multple answers can replace people most of the time, but still computer can't examine how efficient controller you are. How many examiners will be really needed on POSCON? My personal opinion as former ATC is that humans can't be replaced. Theory can be tested by computer evaluated tests, but efficiency and ability to control airplanes in airspace, that's resevrd for people. I have noticed when visiting different ARTCC in the US on vatsim there are some that require you to take the tests that people that join as their home ARTCC but others don't require you to. I was wondering will something like that be up to who is running that ARTCC/FIR or will be a network standard?

@Andrew Heath ATC training on VATSIM is a long, and overly complicated process. Each ARTCC has their own way of doing things, and there are many barriers for people that want to become a controller. Some of those barriers in the current VATSIM training model are: Length of time to go from student to controller is far too long, typically 12 to 18 months, and even as long as 2 years in certain ARTCCs. Hello everyone! This is my first post on the POSCON forums. I'd like to start with a suggestion. On legacy networks such as VATSIM and IVAO, you're prohibited from simulating an emergency, no matter how big or small it can be. I personally think that although there shouldn't be unnecessary screaming for an unrealistic emergency, I think abnormal procedures should be taken into account if you want to make this as real as it gets. I've had a small issue in which I needed to return to an airport (not an emergency) and the approach controller on VATSIM yelled at me despite having three planes (including me) in his airspace. Hi all. I was wondering if the POSCON devs were/are considering the idea of having air/ground radio at certain (mainly GA) aerodromes. For example, EGSX - North Weald has an Air Ground radio setup where, for those that don't know, pilots tell the radio controller their intentions and the radio controller advises the pilot on any conflicting traffic as well as giving pilots information on active runway and wind etc. Obviously, in reality it's slightly more complicated than that but it should give you a good idea.
