Now, I have been registered and following the discussions on this forum for quite some time now. And I have to say, I am actually pretty hyped about it. But there are some things that almost nobody seems to be talking about, that actually excite me the most. These are mainly the 'Drone' system and the ability to share your radar as an ATC. First of all, are both of these planned features still a thing? When are they planned to be implemented? (I know, questions starting with "when" always require a lot of caution...) Now, for the drone system: I know there are some kind of drones on PilotEdge - but these stay out of controlled airspaces and are not interactive. How…

Isn't it about time that we hear some news about development or any other news about POSCON? It seems to be a dead born child.

hi. just a simple question: why there is no activity on the forum? the developers that are working on POSCON should post some updates and changes that they did in the past weeks, and let us know at what stage are they. thanks.

I don’t know if this is possible to fix, but one thing that really bugs me on VATSIM is the X plane height difference with other users. I hate watching to see if someone is about to grease their landing and then seeing them stop at 100ft and rollout on their runway while still in the air on my screen. And it’s not to do with XP’s sloped runways cos that hasn’t fixed it for me. Anyway im really excited for POSCON so if this was integrated that would be awesome! Harry Karmel

Hey this my first time posting, and im just wondering if you will be able to send/receive HF from controllers and if you will be able to hear SELCAL tones when you do. I don't know if VATSIM has this or not because I've never crossed a pond in VATSIM. Here are some examples: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4_w21Yptns https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMA9Dzn50iY

Hi, guys! So, I just got a new feature working on the forums: acronym expansion! For example, if I type out ILS, it should expand when you hover over it to "Instrument Landing System." If it doesn't work, well, I've done messed up. If you see an acronym you want added to the list, or one isn't right, feel free to reply here, or send me a message! Otherwise, if there's a feature you want to see here (custom emojis, anybody?) drop a comment! Thanks, Eamonn

I assume you are going to have a way to incorporate realistic radar coverage. Will there be an way to define the radar site's rate of rotation and a way to define a site's ceiling. For instance an ASR radar updates faster than a LRR radar due to one is designed for long range and the other one is designed for short range so the rate of turn and update is slower for the LRR. For instance setting up an ASR radar only to be designed to view up to 20k feet or so.

Don't get me wrong, I fully understand that the virtual shuffling of big iron with lots of squishy freight from one continent to another is likely to be the focus here. I get it. I may even participate in those endeavors to a small degree (I do own the Dash-8 Q400, which is the biggest aircraft in my virtual fleet.) I am part of an apparently small, eclectic corner of the market that gets a big charge out of flying into and out of the smallest of places, with the smallest of aircraft. Sometimes my passenger list has one name on it, destination "fishing hole at Sundown Creek"; aircraft type: Piper Super Cub. It's a beautiful way to fly and still earn something. And I…

I tried to search it to see if anyone else brought it up. Will tower view ever be a feature that is considered for tower controllers to view traffic coming in while using P3D?

As I know, airlines tow some of their aircraft from a terminal to the maintenance area at night and for freeing out a gate during the daytime. These aircraft do not have departure or destination airports, and are towed with engine off. Can they be added to the AI traffic?

Coming from Vatsim where each regen, country, and sector has its own site will that be same here. If so could I suggest instead of doing that could there just be one main site then as you join or visit other sectors you gain access to it on the main site? Why I say this is because on vatsim it varies between the login method using the SSO or you are given a separate login.

Basic pilot training is currently insufficient to enable comprehensive flying knowledge, particularly for newcomers. Available training courses mix provision of VATSIM processes with shallow piloting skills. A solution is to provide a comprehensive pilot ground school training course that significantly broadens piloting skills. This can encourage pilot participation by recognising test success with formal awards. With my experience, I am willing to lead a group to establish the initial training for POSCON. Further planning is, of course, necessary. Please contact me for further discussions.

At night, in many real world airports, including Heathrow, Air Traffic Controllers guide aircraft by green lights on taxiways. Turning on the green lights of specific taxiways can show the pilots a green path that the aircraft should taxi on. Of course, no green lights means the aircraft should not move.

When a person quits the simulator, its so weird to see his or her aircraft vanish suddenly at the airport. Maybe we can try to handle that aircraft by AI, so that it remains at the airport?

On current networks the standard way for controllers to get any weather data is from METARs. That's obviously not very realistic for large airports which are equipped with sensors all over the place. Especially in bad weather conditions with varying winds, giving the pilot what's on the METAR from 15min ago isn't really helpful. I think it'd be nice if controllers could have the option to get live data from the sim if they choose to run it alongside the radar client. So for instance having a plugin that reads ActiveSky wind or visibility/RVR data directly from the sim and sends it to the radar client (or have it as a separate program, whatever). Just a small ide…

Multiplayer is great but the one major immersion killer is incorrect model matches. I hope they can figure out a way to correct this. It would be great if the payware companies would license out models of their aircraft for multiplayer representation only. For example, I don’t own the PMDG 737 ngx but it would be great if while flying online with someone who is flying the PMDG 737ngx it shows up on my computer as the PMDG 737 in all its glory instead of a crappy 737 or a crj 700.

Hello all! I'm Robert Guthy, I'm new here to the POSCON community and looking for some assistance to find my way around! I've been part of the online aviation simulation community(IVAO, VATSIM Etc) for a while now. Currently Im an ATC/Pilot instructor for the IVAO XA's division. I'm very interested to see what the POSCON community is about and what it has to offer. I'm excited to become more involved and meet new people along the way! If anyone can help me get acquainted to the community, how it works etc. that would be great! Thanks, and fly high! Robert Guthy

Will PRM and SOIA approaches be simulated in POSCON? (Or at least are they planned)? Just curious because it would be a lot of fun.

Hello and good morning to you all! I'm the equivalent to a ground controller (although nearly finished my training for tower controller) over at vatsim, If I was to join you guys over here (not absolutely sure yet) do I have to go through the usual routine for getting controller or is a transfer possible? Many thanks, Corey

Simple request, For those of us who will be streaming our ATC sessions or flights. Can we had a checkbox in both the ATC and pilot clients where we can fill out Twitch/YouTube stream links?. Then on whatever display program(POSCONs VAT-Spy) those who are streaming will have either a special color, border around their name or a section in the program where if you click on their ID it will bring you to their streaming page. There could also be a dedicated page on POSCON showing who is live streaming. it would go along way in visually marketing POSCON to random people coming along to the site and a centralized area for POSCON members to watch others…
